The jizzfest over him is what we used to call McCreeryitis - if someone in a black and white shirt "gives 110%" and "gets stuck in" they are worshipped to a ridiculous degree beyond their actual ability/usefulness.

Similarly anyone who doesn't conform to the incredible standards set by some fans are labelled terrible and a waste of money etc. etc. simply because some fans need to vent their frustration about a performance and it's easier to do it to a player, than to the team.
Robert was villified despite being an incredible source of goals and creativity for the team but didn't track back, now Jonas is getting it because he tracks back but doesn't create as much as we'd like.
It's a bit deluded if you ask me.
Don't get me wrong - I think he's a good player who will do better but the acclaim he has received so far has been over the top.
It never bothered me that Robert didn't track back - I felt he let himself down by occasional disinterest/fairyness.

The only slight thing I have against him on the injury front is I got the feeling in 06 that he took him time coming back deliberately to be fresh for the world cup and I couldn't help thinking if he had had a few more games he wouldn't have fucked his knee.
I'm willing to admit that's my Newcastle is everything/England is nothing viewpoint coming through.

It's not pay rise or bonus time for us but I did get a nice email off the chairman thanking me for my efforts (with an undercurrent of be thankful we aren't screwed).

The thing is TI I'm all for free speech but people who hold responsible positions have to consider that responsibility when giving an opinion. Despite the supposed infallibility/link to God a pope has a shit load of advisors who are there to either help him put opinions correctly or to do what they should have done here and politely tell him his comments will be used against the church.
I saw one comment on the Guardian site which had a different angle - the pope was basically stating that humans are either born/created male or female and that's it. Now putting homosexuality aside the scientific truth is that they are not - transgenderism can be an innate feature of someone which then suggests that once again the church is denying science. This in addition to denying that homosexuality is natural - as seen elsewhere in nature.
You know my position is to delight in religious fuckups as it almost does my job for me but at the same time if I was a member of the church I think I'd have the right to ask him what the fuck he was thinking of - in that I almost feel sorry for ordinary decent catholics.

Personally i don't think its really down to pricing that much at all, that's just the final straw if you like. Its really down to a bunch of people who have literally had enough, from Souness, Roeder, Fat Sam and then Ashley building hopes up with KK only to shit on them completely. They've just decided that they can't take anymoe of this shit for now at least.
If KK had been backed and stayed and got the football and results flowing i think most of them would have been back by the end of this season, but now there is no entertainment, no hope and no optimism and its killed some people off from coming.
Obviously if ticket prices were vastly reduced people would come back, but i think its mostly down to be people being sick to death of the club being a mess to be honest!
That's certainly why I've only been to two games so far - though my seat is still being used.

Should be done for it and banned as it was a blatant stamp, but i can't help but feel when its that cunt Cahill, you have to say there is mitigating circumstances as who could spend 90 mins on a pitch with him and not stamp on him!

Fair enough. I didn't realise although that does ring a bell. They were pretty expensive poreviously too iirc.
I said at the time that it was a case of hats off to Mort/Ashley - I think they judged that area as part of the changes and realised we'd been overcharged in the past.

I think we all agree that the PR of the club since Ashley came has been poor. In that context they made a major break when they announced the contract offer in August. We have now found that it was being charitable not as generous as they made out. If it was opening shot in a negotiation as you imply Baggio why did the make such a big deal out of it?

Ah but the real reason the catholic church is so anti-homosexual sex isn't because of a moral reason - its practical - it means less chance of new recruits. This is the same reason they are against heterosexual non-reproductive sex even in marriage.

He's a head down and run at the full-back winger basically. He's not an intelligent player.
That's his downfall - he doesn't have the instinct or the intelligence however you want to put it to know when to pass, when to cross and when to take on a man - he needs to realise this and concentrate on improving before he thinks he deserves a better club.
I think he has the talent but he needs a good coach/manager to move forward - I hope its with us but as I said I see him as too much of a saleable asset for the current regime.
