I don’t actually mind Irish or Welsh Liverpool fans so much, and same goes for Scots if it’s their second team really. Even further afield in some cases. The English ones from other parts of the country to Liverpool though. Actually the ones from Liverpool as well

That Tough Guy Mick or whatever he was called was a prime example

My ex-boss is Irish and a Liverpool fan - his brother ran the local supporter's branch in Ireland and did go to all the games but my ex-boss didn't until there was an easing of demand for tickets under Hodgson and they started emailing begging offers for midweek games

He suggested going to the CL final in Istanbul as his first game but I did tell him I'd be forced to murder him if he did that.

On the bright side I did correct his automatic "United" by constantly correcting him over the coarse of about 7 years.

  2. I know we all laugh at the mackems when any dominant performance by us is down to the other team being shit but I think there's an element in that to the doom and gloom reactions to how we played. I'm not saying it was acceptable how much they dominated but it's not a one-off - they are in excellent form and were fucking brilliant in that first half.

  3. Normally you'd be right and the SNP should be shot with shit as well but despite what I said above its almost certain Labour will be in power at the end of this year at the very latest which is why what they are saying/doing is arguably more important than the tories.

This SNP prick, whoever he is. He bemoans we should be talking about Gaza, not party politics. I mean, labour fucking well literally got a ceasefire bill in yesterday didn't they against a tory opposition who bottled it? Why not shut up and support it instead of whinging on about ancient parliamentary custom? Then compains the the Lib Dems didn't get their ammendment selected. So what, they're a smaller party than Labour aren't they, and there's limited time? Also the SNP claimed Hoyle was threatened and bullied by Labour (without any evidence that I can see, incidentally) and then - he and his party remorselessly try to bully Hoyle into resignation. I can't see anybody being impressed by this hypocritical behaviour, except our resident Scottish nationalist who happens to be English.... Crazy World we live in.

The motion removed collective punishment which was the trap but still shows the toxic position Labour holds.

The real motion should've been about arms sales and military support for genocide but "grown ups" can't entertain that.

  5. I know they've shit the bed but I think when it comes down to it tory voters will stay more loyal than projected - even in 2015 there was a wave of last minute defections from the polls that made all the difference.

Recent polls have Labour winning Chelmsford but even Blair never came within a million miles of beating the tories here and it won't happen now.

  6. A mate of a mate moved to the US about 20 years ago to work for the same firm over there. He made it a condition he'd keep his 25 days or whatever it was instead of going down to 10 which they agreed as long as he kept quiet about it. I couldn't see how the latter would work as I'd imagine a few people would notice.

The Americans have it wrong of course about lfewer  holidays meaning increased productivity - the Germans are a lot more productive and have shit loads of leave when you count all the religious holidays they have.

    Who even is he?

It's like they've got the team leader from Accounts Payable in to give his views. Is he an ex-agent or something?

I saw him talking about the bloke who owns Spurs through a trust being a crook and he kept saying that he doesn't own Spurs so there's no consequences and then at the end mentioned that his family trust (classic tax evasion vehicle) owns sixty percent of the club.

So he does effectively own them then...
