  1. Chris Hughton

http://www.nufc.premiumtv.co.uk/page/NewsD...1598860,00.html IMO for 60 minutes you were always thinking it just might collapse and in typical style we really fucked up. Hughton and his tactics, subs and lack of clear instruction to the players is that part of our problem, what was Butt shouting at Hughton most of the second half. Why was Owen not on the pitch from the start, why was Taylor not subbed immediately he was injured, why was the piece of crap Ameobi brought on?????? Many more questions but only one problem, because of Ashley and his regime we will never find a solution.
  2. hmmmmmmmmmmm

I am no fan of Duff but out of the 22 games when he has started we have won 5 and lost 8, of the total we have played in the PL (29) we have won 6 and lost 12. Had Duff played in the other 7 games might we not have won one more game. I don't know! but I wonder if we looked at the same stats for the likes of Butt and Geremi. What I do know the team lacks pace and purpose and are playing like a team that is going down! BTW it's not just a midfield problem, in the main we are shite right from the top of the club to the bottom, do you really wonder why we're in this position?
  3. Probably for Rob W and similar age

  4. 6 Years ago today

seems like a lifetime under this regime, we are light years away from anything remotely successful.
  5. Probably for Rob W and similar age

partly right. There was a couple of turnstiles right at the bottom of the cobbled road, next to an old building which was the clubs offices. The main turnstiles, which most people used, were next to the Gallowgate turnstiles, opposite the strawberry, and seperated by railings when you got inside the turnstile. You then walked up the ramp to the popular end. That's how I remember it, and when you were a young'un you might crawl in underneath with your old fella, if you were lucky enough not to get caught.
  6. Probably for Rob W and similar age

Sorry no turnstiles, pics from late 60's and 70's David Craig and popular side on left just as building works began on new stand Bryan "Pop" Robson and popular side on left and 10 minute flag top centre Wyn Davies leazes end on left and popular side with trees in background.
  7. What view do you take of Wed's game against Man U?

Yes, this was one of our better performances, but it still remains that we lost, mainly because we took our eye off the ball. What's new, we should be putting the same effort that we saw against Manure in every game and we would not be fighting against relegation. The players need to take responsibility for their efforts, the coaches need to step it up and of course Ashley and his regime should feck off.
  8. Skipper Revealed For Man Utd Clash

GK would never be my choice for captain, but this regime has forced many things on us that we do not want. This is just one more.
  9. What other fans think

not sure if i give a toss what other fans think
  10. Things you never see at SJP anymore

the flag in the Gallowgate corner being lowered 10 minutes before full time.
  11. Things you never see at SJP anymore

the guy who used to walk around the track flogging peanuts.
  12. Bolton Wanderers 1-0 Newcastle United

http://www.nufc.premiumtv.co.uk/page/NewsD...1574696,00.html Hughton you idiot, we got what we deserved, to get something more you have to be better than rhe opposition, quite simply we were shit.

  14. Bolton Wanderers 1-0 Newcastle United

On account of the height he could jump and head the ball with great accuracy, The Mighty Wyn, my all time hero, great man and very humble.
  15. Bolton Wanderers 1-0 Newcastle United

Wyn Davies is a guest of Bolton Wanderers on Sunday, but I guess he'll be giving the travelling TOON ARMY a respectful thank you for the happy years he spent on Tyneside.
  16. Mark Viduka

http://www.skysports.com/story/0,19528,11661_4939776,00.html This lot are just about as stupid as anyone can imagine. Insist that Viduka has a big part to play in keeping us in the PL and in the same breath insist that his contract is unlikely to be renewed. Best man management I've seen in years, WTF would he want to help us out, he get's paid anyway and it's our stupid fault for signing the sicknote in the first place. Morally you might expect something from him, but he's off to Oz in the summer and he won't give a FFFk for us.
  17. Shepherd versus Ashley

You convinced me with brilliant reasons, Shepherd it is Everyone seems to forget the nose-dive the clubs been in for the past 5 years, it's no worse now than it has been for ages. Except of course we upset KK (alledgedly) and no-one ever liked Wise and shock hoprror he's got a job with us. Prejudice is blinding reality IMO As for the debt level, OK lets have tons of debt BUT do you really think that Shepherd could have drummed up any more cash just now for players than the current bunch is doing ?? no worse a reason than people slating Shepherd for "embarrassing" them with regular european football, a filled to capacity expanded ground, "trophy players" [laughable phrase] who were responsible for providing all of this instead of cheap imitations, and a couple of Cup Finals. Big Onion has nailed this debate dead in its tracks with his comments. I agree Big Onion is spot on, IMO Cashley does not have a plan now and never will. In terms of the debt, if the club is riding high, then who gives a toss, just look at the teams at the top. Of course there has to be the means to pay it back, if we had carried on after those successful seasons wich KK and SBR gave us we would be still challenging now. Instead we allowed managers to come and go, no consistency. Too often we have been happy to get rid quickly and TBF that illustrates some of our other failings, it is the selection process that needs to be sharpened. Look who we have now, a caretaker that has a crap record, caretaking for the manager that has a not much better record. Shepherd started this rot but Clueless Ashley has compounded it.
  18. Shepherd versus Ashley

I'd have to say Shepherd, show me which of the major clubs that do not have debt, and then ask their position in their respective league. Under Ashley all we have done is move the debt and in a crisis who do you think he'll support, Ashley of course. If it comes to a final countdown and he has to make choices he will always back his first instincts, and where he made that money. NUFC is his expensive plaything, his retailing empire is where he has made his money. Whilst Shepherd is not the ideal I also hate that smug smile that emanates from Llambias. I also hate the fact that we have a poisoned little dwarf with vast amounts of influence on our club. So for these reasons Shepherd wins my vote, hands down.
  19. Dennis Wise needs a chance

Yup, he'd snap any buyer hand off, not that he'll get one. This is why I chortle when I see reams of Ashley defence on N.O. He's trying to get out from under muppets!!! But all must bear in mind that what comes next might be worse! Thought we'd all struck oil when we got Ashley. I've never met the guy to make that assessment and I find it hard to pass judgement without ever meeting someone. There are always nexceptions to this rule and in Ashley's case he is an exception. The more I here via Llambias and of Ashley's prowess and management skills the more I wonder. As time has gone by over the months, the more incredulous and frankly outright stupid things have become at NUFC. Could it be any worse, the answer is I do not know, but I do know this is damn shit and I do wish for a change of regime, it's as simple as that. I never for one minute thought we had struck oil and it would be wrong to say all of us had that view when Ashley rolled into town! I guess a lot of us asked who the FKN hell is this who has bought our club, and with a very short negotiated transaction period.
  20. Happy Birthday...

    SBR true legend HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!!!!!!!!!!
  21. Dennis Wise needs a chance

And if we started winning match after match? IMO it wouldn't even get to that, the shit that wise would get would be unbearable. Under a different regime if wise had turned up or been appointed manager then he might stand half a chance but because what has gone on before then I think no chance. In footballing terms wise is like a genius compared to the likes of Ashley and Llambias, but in managing he is still lacking the X Factor. Statistically his results show a win percentage in excess of 40%, with clubs like Millwall, Swindon and Leeds, but I doubt that would favour well in the Premiership. In our recent history managers have come and gone too easily at Newcastle and that is reflected where we are now, the last three holders in the name of KK 29%, CH 0% and now JK with an outstanding 22% with only Ardiles worse at 21%. Prior to this time we have the outstanding KK on 55% between 1992-1997, Roeder on a handsome 46% for his stint between 2006-2007. One thing for sure is that we will never achieve stability for as long as this regime tries to muddle their way through our club. Even Joe Harvey who was manager for the longest period since the 60's wheeled in with a paltry 38% for his time in charge 1962-1975. One thing did happen in this period, we won a trophy or two, one significant, the others not so. We won promotion from the 2nd division as champions in 1964/65, Inter Cities Fairs Cup 1969, FA Cup Runners up 1974, Anglo Italian Cup 1973, Texaco Cup 1974 and 1975. IMO stability in the management structure brought about this modest amount of success. What all this demonstrates is a need for stability, we had the semblance of order for 5 years under KK and look what happened, Joe Harvey is testament to this view and just take a look at the successful teams in the PL and notice who are in the top few. I agree thats what we need and my whole reasoning around wise and poyet is that they have previously worked well together and whoever comes in will have to work under wise. Necastle fans know better than anyone that a manager that actually is succesful is a fluke. We have tried so many that should have worked but didnt. Then you look at people like Ramos. Hindsights great but all were raving about him before he came. You just dont know. Its so predictable and sad to hear Bruce, Sven, Shearer etc. There are so many reasons why they wont work and will not happen. Wise and poyet could start straight away and are much preferable to Hughton or whoever else they may go for at short notice if hughton loses the first two games. And Alex, the only stupid fans are ones like you who seem to be stuck in the past without any sign of a realistic argument for the future. 100% Give wise the job cos 100% when he fails Ashley will have to sack him and at least then we will be rid of one more waste of NUFC space and on the road to reducing the wage bill.
  22. Dennis Wise needs a chance

Surely it does, and if you look long and hard at his win ratio, when he was left to do the job by himself he was no better than Ardiles. It also illustrates that any manager should be given sufficient time, that begs that you select someone with a track record.

  24. Ashley to try to halt season ticket sale decline...

I am with Lloyds and when I tried to cancel them on line it said this type of debit could not be cancelled online and that I should contact the branch. After contacting the branch they eventually agreed that they had managed to cancel the DDR. For some reason it did take some doing, watch out cos they have also changed the company name that is collecting the DDR's, so you might cancel one and another is still in place, ensure that the bank gives you a reference and confirmation. Mind you I am expecting a letter soon to ask for the money because I had a contract, they can go forth and multiply.
