  1. Reading between the lines, the kid is a charva. He's been born and raised in deepest Gateshead, and one of the main reasons Alan Irvine thought he was shit at Preston was because he was on the piss all the time and too many bad external influences. He needs to sort it out.

You could say the exact same thing about Gazza.

Not comparing Carroll to Gazza <_<

Gazza could've been part of the Camorra mafia family, going whacking people at the age of 10, and these external influences wouldn't have stopped him being a world class footballer....that's the difference.

Those in bold all relate to Gazza.

Your argument is shit mate, you cant say some one is shit at football because they are on the piss or because of their background.

No but you can say someone is shit because they have little or no ability. I offered Irvine's reason for him being shit.

The kids only 19, no one has obviously seen the last of him or him performing to the best of his abilities. You can't judge a 19 year old based on what you have seen of him in a game that he came on with 10 minutes to go or because of a loan spell.

Am not saying that he done well last night, in my honest opinion he was fucking shit when he came on, am just sticking up for him because I don't think people need to start threads and start posting shit saying he should never put on a Toon top again because that is just harsh.

cant you? I would have thought the two have a clear and direct relationship, more beer less pace, skill and sense.

Im pretty sure if Carroll hadnt been a local lad he wouldnt have anyone defending him, expect a rash of "I have black n white striped shites and piss Broon Ale (which is quite probable from the sound of things) headlines in the Ronnie over the next few weeks.

Hes out of his depth and should count himself extremely lucky if a Championship side even consider putting a bid in.

100% agree peasepud, compare this so-called athelete with some of the same age or even less at Arsenal, Age is irrelevant, Age does not make you an athelete or even a footballer. Theo Wallcott is 19, Jack Wilshere is 16, Nicklas Bendtner is 20. We can all pick players of a similar age but the plain simple fact on Monday night Andy Carroll looked as though he could not give a shit or that he did not want to be on the pitch. How good he really is, I do not know, but what little I have seen of him I am not impressed. No room for guys like this. If he was one of my work colleagues I'd want him off my team.

  2. Rightly or wrongly the guy was selected to sit on the bench by JFK. The purpose of a sub/squad player is to join the game at any stage and contribute to the team, I'm not sure that he did, please do not argue age, what age do you become a footballer?

What I saw on the pitch last night was a spirited performance by players who pulled together with a determination to win, spurred on by the fantastic support of Toon fans. Sadly towards the end 11 men got the dege of 10 men and we were on the backfoot for the last ten minutes or more, IMO Andy C just made up the numbers and because of the forced change made us perform with little more than 9 men for the last 10 minutes.

  3. We've got nothing better than JFK at this point in time, not an ideal situation but who would want to devote their time to an Ashley regime, not many?

In the 10 minutes JFK talked bullshit fed by Cashley and continues to do so, I agree a smokescreen to try and get us on-side. I also think this is simply deflecting or an attempt to deflect the real issues, IMO he will be here for a while yet, they are going nowhere. Regardless, we still have to give the team our full support and boycott everything financially Cashley.

  4. No, I'm sorry. You don't just get my tenner because you're well-intentioned if I think you're going about things the wrong way. And the money isn't even the issue. The 'pressure' you're on about is counter-productive. He's said he's selling, don't make it harder for him / give him an excuse to blame the fans for scuppering the deal. You broadly have my support but this isn't a good start imo.

To be honest Stevie, what worries me is your defending of the actions. I can see why you would have made statements like these, hoping to hurry along the process. However, I'd hope that you'd have taken things on board and maybe reconsidered what was said and thought about seeing how the next few days pan out. But no, you seem to be adamant you were right. Doesn't augur well for the future with regard to being a democratic organisation if the people running the show are all of the same ilk. I'd also like to see demands for information from the club about exactly what is happening. At least with regards to the deadlines. That might give you a more reasoned approach if the club were forthcoming because all we're getting at the miniute is contraditory press reports.

    Spot on Alex!

IMO it's not criticism for the sake of it, I would expect to have some sort of view, it aint a dictatorship.

I stand by my view, I am not waving the white flag, strength in action is necessary and it is vitally important that Cashley and his team get our message. As I said in my previous post sometimes it pays to wait 24 hours.

  5. It's a learning curve for everyone. I don't want to criticise the good work that HAS been done so far, for free I might add.

This is just a time for some clear thinking.

NUSC is there. It exists. Therefore I think ALL fans should try and give it the time to develop before shooting it down, I'm certain though, that these statements (however well meant) need to wait.

I know what it's like when people with similar ideas get together, you think you can change the world. The trouble is, when you put it out there, people aren't on the same page. That's why NUSC needs to put all major actions of policy to a public vote.

I'd hate to see the club take offence, I for one am basically massively impressed that anyone has got it to this stage. It does though, need to make sure it grows at a steady pace and not race ahead leaving the majority of supporters behind.

    <_<

I agree that it is a learning curve, but it appears to be very steep learning curve. With these statements hitting the media, we are creating a lot of hot air about something that might never happen.

I would agree that to get thus far, NUSC and the "committee" has certainly impressed me. Maybe next-time before you go to press with something as important as this, leave it 24 hours, and if it feels right, then publish. IMO sometimes it is wise to sleep on things like this.

  6. The message needs to get to them pretty quickly that they are in danger of alienating people that supported the idea previously. An INTERIM committee making pronouncements about next summer having canvassed the opinions of precisely no one. Suddenly a tenner starts to look like a horrible waste of money.

Misdirected and misguided, when I attended the very first get together at the Irish Centre I was encouraged, that the top table together with the floor were in agreement. Not so many weeks on and already there is an air of disharmony. Never mind a tenner, any amount of money could be a horrible waste.

  7. Sounds like a few people at NUSC are getting a little too full of themselves. The idea is to form the ORGANISATION first and foremost.

The agenda has to be agreed once that's in place. I strongly suggest the people behind this statement withdraw it until the suggested online polls are in place. This type of thing will alienate people and stop the organisation having credibility.

Agreed. My stance on this when people have moaned about the NUSC not speaking for them is that you join and you vote and you make them speak for you. They're now making statements about what they're going to do next summer and no fucker has voted on anything. This is not a good start.

Looks and sounds like there has been not a lot of thought put into these outbursts. Whilst I firmly believe that a NUSC is correct and the right way forward I personally think that this is bad PR. I personally would not put my name to these statements. We should strive to work with these guys not against, which IMO is where this seems to be heading.

  8. In simple terms, corpreneurs accelerates business performance improvement quicker, with greater certainty and at a lower cost than our clients can on their own. In order to begin this process a series of meetings between one of our senior Accountant Executives and the client Chief Executive are recommended and scheduled.

Smell a rat, nonsense or what?

Relive the glory days of Newcastle European glory.

    For one night only.

I will be interesting to see what they say about the current situation at least.

Even if the cash raised goes to the Newcastle United Foundation, which the article doesn't say, I can't see ticket sales being high while Ashley is here. At least I'd hope not.

NUSC should organise a fan dinner alternative and contact the '69 players and ask them to boycott the club in favour of it.

    :(

Yes I'm one of those over 50's who recalls this quite clearly.

This link provides a better read, and as you can see there is already a Club set up to honour the legends.

  10. Whether you agree or disagree to the rant and rave and bad language, the media focuses too much on the bad things in football, and whilst I accept it sells newspapers some, no most, of these journalists are crap. They mis-report for fun and the majority of their readership want to believe what they write is true.

Most of the reporting rooms in the south of england will attempt to sensationalise any story about any club other than those south of Watford. Notice I've included the likes of Manure and Liverpool in this argument. These clubs, when things were/are going wrong have never escaped the press' evil reporting. Only Fergie has been strong enough to tell them to sod off, his results dictate the pace he wants.

In recent months it seems as though Newcastle has been top of the medias hit-list, but I wonder not, caused by the antics of our management team coupled with Ashley's arrogant approach to demolish NUFC. I also wonder why when the "top man" is trying to sell the club.

Joe Kinnear is yet another chapter in the soap opera of NUFC and I am truly ashamed, no, I'm fucking fed up with both the management style of our BoD's and the reporting shite from the media.

I would really like to know what the truth is regarding NUFC's proposed sale, how long we've got the Kinnear for and numerous other unanswered questions. All the media attempts or achieves is to muddy the waters and confuse the situation. If NUFC used PR correctly and wisely, most of the shit that is hitting the news would not be out there.

Right now I don't give a fuck about poor Joe and his expletives, it's about time some of this media lot got what they deserve. All I truly want from Joe Fucking Kinnear and the football team is that they work together and produce some results. Time for pussy-footing about is over. If it works well done JFK, IMO it's about time for straight talking, improved performances and better results.

IN SIMPLE WORDS, A MESSAGE FOR THE PLAYERS SHOULD BE, NEVER MIND THE SHIT THAT'S GOING ON AROUND YOU, LET SOMEONE ELSE TAKE THE FLAK AND THE BURDON OF EVERYTHING OUTSIDE THE FOOTBALL PITCH, AND DO WHAT YOU'RE PAID TO DO. THE PLAYERS WILL EARN OUR RESPECT AND ABOVE ALL THAT IS GOING ON, MAKE US MORE DETERMINED TO GIVE THEM OUR SUPPORT.

THIS IS A MINIMUM REQUIREMENT, THE PLAYERS EARN SIGNIFICANT AMOUNT OF DOSH, AND THE PLAYERS NEED TO DEMONSTRATE THAT THEY DESERVE IT.

JFK might just be the right man for the job at this point in time, but he might not, results will tell us that. I do think everyone should get off his back and give him a fair chance, let us see what he can do before we completely asassinate him.

In the past, NUFC fans have been too quick to bemoan a manager before he has even got going, I wonder how much of this is caused by crap driven media. JFK was on a hiding before he even took on the role, in the fans eyes they wanted Ashley out and KK back immediately. It was never going to happen, I wonder if the relationship of JFK and Cashley still trundles along well into 2009. How much of this reporting by the southern press is speculation and total lies fed to JFK by Cashley. Can we believe anything we hear about what is really going on at NUFC.

    I AM NOT SO SURE!

  11. Almost 45000 there yesterday, pretty damn good considering what's going on.

But can anybody tell me how they arrive at that figure, is it numbers through the turnstiles, is it season tickets bought plus additional tickets sold, just how do NUFC count?

  12. Newcastle should be aware of Joe Kinnear's Wimbledon ways

An insight into what Newcastle United can expect under their new manager.

Watch out: Newcastle's temporary manager Joe Kinnear was known to motivate his players at Wimbledon with a string of expletives Photo: Getty Images

I was youth coach and reserve team manager at Wimbledon in 1998, Joe Kinnear's last year at the club. During that year I had exactly three conversations with him – and none of them was football-related. He didn't watch reserve matches, rarely appeared on the training ground and never took a staff meeting. He wasn't interested in the development of young players or the structure of the club. He simply saw himself as a match-day manager.

When he took over from Peter Withe at Wimbledon in 1992, he was appointed alongside Terry Burton as joint manager. Burton, a brilliant coach, was the technical brain, while Kinnear enjoyed the role of motivator and figurehead. For the first couple of years it was the ideal combination, but when Burton became disillusioned with the partnership and decided to oversee the academy, any structure and vision of how the team would develop evaporated.

Kinnear's strengths were on a match day. He would devise a basic game plan, pick the relevant team to carry out his instructions and motivate his players with a string of expletives. He was also adept at pressurising the referee and getting the fans on his side. His half-time team talks were more threatening than informative, but to the type of player that Wimbledon had at the time, it seemed to work.

So his appointment as Newcastle's interim manager will suit him perfectly. He will thrive on the attention, not have to worry about the club's future and will be able to concentrate solely on managing the team on match day. However, I can't see his style of man-management going down too well with the players or the coaching team, who will get so little guidance from him. It will be another interesting month on Tyneside.

This is surely going to be entertaining, Seen it somewhere before!
