I'm not going to say its a good or bad thing.

It should be pointed out that Polygon are a hedge fund with a reputation for wanting to make quick money.

However, the proposal seems to state that they want to take a back seat and put football people in charge of running the club. If that's the case, then it may well be good news, but who knows?

All we can do is wait and see. I'm reserving my judgement and right now I don't have strong feelings either way.

One for the board's financial experts- what are Polygon going to be looking for as a return- surely around 8-10%? On £200m+ that's going to take a lot of work.

The numbers just don't add up for me. Hedge funds don't make many bad decisions so I wonder what it is they know that we don't.

Once debt is paid off if planned correctly due to our fan base and possible foreign market inroads we would be classed as a hell of an investment. If we were to actually win something / compete we would be massive again.

I don't know how much the proposed casino would make, but it surely wouldn't justify the outlay for the club. They could probably buy 10 times the land and build a casino the size of Killingworth for that.

As for ST prices, they'll know that supply is currently greater than demand, it will take something special on the pitch to fill the house at higher prices. Either that or they're going to be greeted by a lot of empty seats.

There must be something that makes us worth all the effort.

The big concern is that they can do a Glazer, and put the purchase vehicle's debt onto the acquired company, saddling us best part of a quarter of a billion of debt.

I think it's a case of when Freddy fucks off rather than if now. The rumours are getting really strong and there are three groups apparently intrested in taking over (Belgravia, Gillet and Polygon/UBS).

I wouldn't be suprised if someone at the club leaked the stroy to try and get more cash out of the other two groups. They obviously think there is a mint to be made with the potential casino deal otherwise these huge sums of cash wouldn't be thrown about.

One intresting thing in the article is that they say Belgravia has backing from the middle east. If that is the case and it's some oil rich Shiek then i'm firmly in their corner <_<
