we need new strikers and new defenders. the squad is wafer thin tbh. the bench today was a joke.

The squad is anything but waferthin! How many other sides would go to White Hart Lane without 10 first-teamers and win 3-2? It's only thin now because exactly half of the squad is injured which is just a freak occurance. Would Man U have a "waferthin" squad, just because Vidic, Ferdinand, Neville, Heinze, Giggs, Scholes, Ronaldo, Rooney, Carrick & Saha were all injured at once...and were left with having to put Academy players on the bench?

I agree with nut on the comments of the 'wafer thin' squad. If it was wafer thin, we'd be having to play injured players. What is evident is that we've got some kids coming through who are showing an extreme amount of promise. Taylor's postion in the first team is cemented and i'd be tempted to give Huntingdon a good run in the team. Edgar could do with some more exposure too.

If Arsenal or Man Utd were missing 11 of the first team squad, they'd struggle and it's questionable if their kids would be able to do what ours did today.

And lets not even contemplate Liverpool's kids after what happened in mid-week

Precisely...

I just fear the incoming of another Babayaro/Boumsong at the expense of Huntingdon.

If we're buying this month, let it be one player who will definitely improve a postion rather than 2 or 3 who will consolidate or even worsen it!

Maybe it's worth noting that we haven't had to blood any of our young forwards like we've been forced to do at the back. Should Martins be injured then it would be a chance for one of these youngsters to show what they could do. I believe we need a target striker but the need for a pair of full backs can not be overlooked.
