can we assume you’ve fallen off the keto wagon?

Ah aye.

You were right all along. Unsustainable for a normal functioning human who likes nice food.

Glad to hear it - life is too short to deny yourself bread that looks as good as the loaf you just baked!

also, the idea that bread - or other carbs - make you fat is just nonsense.

Another of life's puzzles.

How to turn beansprouts into the nice soft version you get in lots of Chinese dishes?

I quite like them briefly stir fried so they have a bit of crunch, but other family members would prefer the sloppy / juicy version.

Nearly 10 years later and I’ve cracked it

Boil some water in a wok, add Bean sprouts and cook for 2 minutes, drain and set aside.

Add some sesame oil to clean Wok and add a few onions, chillis, spring onions and garlic (I used lazy garlic).

Stir fry for a few minutes and add the bean sprouts after a minute add some dark soya sauce and stir fry for another minute.

Fucking Beeaauutiful :)

Nah, I want to look like a chef and use the real stuff. I tried that Lazy Garlic once and didnt think it was anything like fresh garlic.

Also, don't think the forum ever forgets. :D

(This was in response to me saying I use the lazy stuff all the time, I'm not being a snob for once!)

Funny, I always thought the hard thing was to keep bean sprouts crispy, and that's what people preferred. Apparently the key is to overcook them and make them mushy all along. 👍

So, having said to Mrs. Fist the other day,

“ Why don’t we invite our mothers round for lunch on Mother’s Day?”,

which would’ve been an increase of two to our usual Sunday dinner, I’ve now just been told that it’s 15 people, 3 of whom are vegan.

Fuck my easy Sunday

ooof, sunday dinner is one of the worst options for vegans going. you'll have your work cut out there. if you're not wedded to the idea, can i suggest you switch to a sunday curry instead?
