Materialism: The "What have you bought?" Thread

Just the thought of you sitting staring at the window and the thought actually forming in your head: "you know what would look great there? A stained glass window. But not just any stained glass window. This is gonna need my guidance to capture what I'm seeing in my mind's eye right now."

Then standing up out of your seat, as if someone jammed a hot poker up your khyber, and announcing to your lass: "I, Gordon Renton Ramsay, am going to design my first stained glass window, at the age of 26."

It wasn't like that at all. I was 29 iirc.

It's funny this has become a decade long meme on here. My mention of my SGW came on the same thread Fish, with a straight face, declared "You buy cheap, you buy twice", whilst extolling the virtues of overpriced double glazing.

Yes, for the information of relative newbies, Fish was a door to door double glazing salesman. And yet it is the legend of my beautiful bespoke window that persists as a piss take.

Excellent attempt to deflect the conversation.

The problem is I worked for that company for about a month, that Stained Glass Window has been up for over a decade. I was a stupid kid when I made my decision, you were a full grown man. :good:

Leaving a mark before you left your 20s. You should go back in the dead of night and smash that window, to bring an end to this.

Am going to get a new one for my current house actually. I've done the sea theme, any suggestions what I should go for?
