To run complex models in real time, they may need to be implemented on parallel hardware such as FPGAs. The main aims of this project are to optimise code for such an implementation, interface the FPGA to sensory inputs and motor outputs on a robot, and use it to model networks of neurons inspired by insect sensorimotor systems.
