as I can't resurrect the N-O thread from the beginning of the season where I told everyone MON was shite and would do fuck all at Villa only to be poo poo'd by the resident nonces and know nowts, I thought I'd start a new one here.

I shall dig it out at the end of the season too. No worries.

Ah, 3-1 loss at SJP with two new strikers looking dangerous with one leaving the field injured when they were well and truely on top and neither having played a competitive game with their new team before!

Yeah MoN is shit isn't he Vic? ;)

Fuck you don't half talk some bollocks.

You are not and never will be manager of Aston Villa and ergo have no fucking idea what is involved in the job and no basis whatsoever for being able to criticise his performance.

The same goes for Allardyce as he's never managed Villa, and O'Leary as he's never managed Villa with glasses.

Think he'll end up doing a better job at Villa than Roeder does at the Toon. One game means nowt anyway. Although if you want to go down the head-to-head analysis route, we were battered down there and they were unlucky to lose last night (going off the highlights ;) ).

They were definitely unlucky to lose. Especially 3-1.

Anyone listen to 606? Two things - first the Villa fan ringing in saying he'd just a watched a match that defined the beautiful game or some such cobblers - he must have been on drugs or something. And the Spurs fan who rang in saying "Us Spurs fans, we don't care where we finish in the league, we don't care about trophies or Europe, all we want to do is beat Arsenal when we play them. It's about time Martin Jol realised this. It's all about beating the scum." North London Mackems-tastic.

Can't believe we are now 9th btw. How shite is the league though?

Aye.

Is invicta taking the piss btw? I can never tell for sure.

Yesterday's match was basically an abortion, painful to sit through, especially the second half. Of the two sides, Villa impressed more tbh and probably deserved at least a draw. We've had some flukey results recently when you consider our performances (this one and Spurs spring to mind), which is nice, but it can't last.

I'd give MON a season before I pass judgement, he did inherit some fucking shite to be fair to him.

Housemate is a Villa fan and says that he can an improvement in the standard of play from the younger lads, he also points to their form at the start of the season up until Luke Moore got injuired. At that point they had to switch from the 4-3-2-1/4-3-3 hybrid that was working well for them, back to an orthodox 4-4-2.

When MON gets key players fit and settled into the club I'm sure Villa will bounce back.

Villa's front two looked canny. Especially seen as they've never played together before. Think Young and Carew could form a good partnership. Difficult to judge them against our defence though tbh.

By the way, if there's ever a nut-based football pun thread on here, I've got dibs on Jon Cashew ok. Nobody better use it before I turn up.

;)

That'll be a short thread. In desperation I've got dibs on Alan Brazil.

fucking hell

so MON is now the same as Jose, he's allowed to be shite unles he has his first choice 11 available?

you think our collection of 11 turdbags is anywhere near Roeder's desired 11?, even before considering unlike MON or Jose he doesn't have the luxury of getting every player he wants because money is no object

No, I think Roeder would like a load of other additions to the squad and would like everyone fit. Just think O'Neill is a far better manager. Their relative track-records prove that tbh.

dunno what O'Neil has done to scar you so personally, but No one is saying he's a footballing Midas. Simply that he's done well at the clubs he's managed with a pretty limited budget. The reason I mentioned Moore's absence was because it lead to a forced switch of formation and strategy. The players he has available are not as strong as the squads available to ourselves and certainly not Chelsea.

I wasn't even saying he will definitely go on to win a cache of trophies at Villa, simply advising to give him a little more time than you have.
