Susanna & her Magic Orchestra's cover of Jolene is terrific. Marissa Nadler doing Chelsea Hotel #2 is also good. I prefer covers when they're made more into the song of whoever's performing them as opposed to being straight takes of the original.

 

I have quite a few least favourites. I suppose that Blink 182 covering Another Girl, Another Planet is somewhat upsetting.

The Jam's version of Heat Wave is quality.

 

Truth.

 

Sitting waiting for the movie to start the other day, some bint was singing a cover of Elton John's Sorry Seems to be The Hardest Word. The expression, 'how to murder a perfectly good song' was invented for this 'version' :lol:
