I have to convert a pdf to doc file. As I don't have the full Adobe version I have to try it otherwise. Is there a good freeware or shareware (maybe trial version) that does the trick? Or any other suggestions to do it?

You could email it to me, I suppose if you don't mind me seeing the document. I have full adobe at work.

Thanks a lot. I already had Ritchie trying it. The problem seems to be that the original file has some strange fonts who produce either errors or give an output with a lot characters not getting correctly converted. I've now decided to just mark the changes in the document with a pen and send a print to the publisher. This was his intention anyway and it's basically his problem that his page proof is full of mistakes which need to get corrected. I just thought it would be easier if I made the corrections directly myself.

But thanks a lot for the help. <_<
