Good thread idea, liking it already!

What about those turquoise 3 wheeled cars (like a Robin Reliant, but smaller) - you know the ones that they used to give disabled people - probably got them on the National Health?

*I challenge someone to come up with a pic of one - I've tried but can't find one* :o

Also - you don't see people wearing NHS specs anymore - with VERY good reason!

Time they brought them back tbh, theres a kid at work whos fiddled his way through life with a 'bad back' he now has a disabled space 20 foot from the entrance and a Mazda 6 motability car for which he doesnt even have to pay tax or insurance.

Bet he wouldnt have been so quick to claim one if it was one of those things

Glenn Hoddle said they deserve to drive those cars.

Scares me how much cash must get paid out for that, probably enough to rebuild a small country every year.

Thing you don't see any more - traffic police (mixed blessing) and cola refreshers. ;)

Correctomundo

Thing is I dont have a problem with people who have problems working etc because of their disability getting cars but this kid earns a good wage yet still doesnt have to pay for road tax.

Best thing was he now works 4 days a week with the 5th being from home because and I quote "I cant take the travelling from Hexham to Longbenton, the strain on my back is terrible" yet a few weeks back they asked him to go to Portsmouth on business so the first thing he does is grab a pool car because he quite fancied the drive!

Stray dogs (well, hardly anyway)

Bus conductors

Home made bogeys (no, not from your nose you scruff)

The TV going "Booooooooooooooooooooooooo" when the programs had finished. Or the TV test card.

Not very often and when I do they are usually eating. ;)

Hop scotch grids chalked onto the ground.

Well you might if you didn't get done for graffiti in a public place and for H&S reasons in playgrounds.

Commadore 64's :o

Yellow Buses, Ford Cortinas, Penny Floaters, Cans of Milk, Black and White portable TVs, Cassette players, Cassette walkmans, Big satellite dishes, NEEB vans, Sherbert and Liquorice sweets, Pound notes, half penny coins, huge 10 and 5p coins, Prestos, Phones with the round clockwork dials (unless you're extremely retro), Happy Shopper products, Mr Freeze ice pops, Tudor crisps, Quatro pop, 5-4-3-2-1 biscuits, Trio biscuits, Adidas Winfields (trainers from woolworths called Winfields which tried to be adidas and had four stripes), TV closedowns each night, Teletext - Ceefax and Oracle. In the 80s and early 90s Teletext seemed amazing, and you'd get pages from Ceefax on the actual telly dead early in the morning before the kids programmes.

Something that you never actually saw, but happened.

Taping from the radio.

Sitting with a blank tape in a radio cassette with your fingers balanced on the play and record buttons ready to poise into action as you waited for a song you liked to be played - you could be waiting hours and then it'd come and you'd press play and be really annoyed because having done so, the DJ would interupt again for a couple of seconds, and then you'd have to try and cut the DJ out at the end, but stop at a point not too far from the end when it sounded like a good place to end. The most annoying thing was when you'd been waiting for a song for ages and ages - sometimes several days (though not continuously obviously) and you'd be taping it thinking - finally then halfway through it you'd hear "MORE MUSIC! METRO RADIO radio radio radio" ruining it!

Our english teacher in secondary school had one, his classromm was at the front of the building so he'd park it outside. He used to open the door and use a urine bottle to pee, he didnt really care who saw

God! You lot are so pedantic :icon_lol:

That was a typing error not a spelling mistake! And yes, I realised I'd done it and no, I couldn't be bothered to correct it! ;)
