Genuine ebay question from a novice;

is there a fool proof way of spotting scams and shysters? I want to buy an Xbox360 Premium and there are a load of "deals" but each and every one has my arse twitching like a rabbits nose.

I'm just highly dubious of buying from a totally anonymous source.

Then don't. :D I only buy 2nd hand games from gamestation or game. I dont think i would buy a 2nd hand console. All though saying that my mate bought his 360 on ebay and it works fine. *Touch Wood*.

That's as maybe, but where are these genuine people? and how can I spot the difference between the likes of you and the likes of some shady fat scam artist chortling into his doritos while £200 of my hard earned(artistic license here) money drops into his "Donkey Porn" fund

I don't know how you avoid getting scammed on eBay. I mean, it's not as if there is a feedback system in place or anything.

Smarmy Bastard. Check the feedback of the seller fish. I wouldn't splash out big money unless the seller had 50 positive feedbacks at least.

you're right mate, it's entirely impossible to leave false feedback isn't it? :D

Twat.

cheers Wacky btw, I know there's feedback and the likes but I dunno.. I'm still not sure about the whole thing, but I'm equally assured of the bargains and good deals to be had.

Is it close? Just arrange to meet and pay when you see the goods. Still might not work though. I also doubt that someone wanting to offload an XBox cheap would have sold lots of other stuff and been given feedback, might just be some daft bint auctioning the ex's stuff. Phone them, email them and use your noggin.

Thats the boat I was in. I was just bored of my Xbox, shouldn't really have bought it in the first place. I only had 10 feedbacks while selling.

I would get in touch with the seller before buying.

Set the search criteria to nearest first then you might find one local where you can collect.

it basically comes down to how experienced you are with using ebay.
