Vista safe mode

I've managed to get an extremely dodgy popups shite on me Vista and after researching it I need to do some stuff in Safe mode however I cant seem to restart in it.

 

I've tried the usual, restart then tap F8 but the menu that appears just asks me where I want to boot from, Hard Drive or DVD rom.

 

 

Any ideas how I can get in there?

Pud - is your copy of vista legit and has it been activated?

 

ive heard that an unactivated vista can lock the user out of certain functions (including safe mode).

if everythings above board

 

try this:

 

go to run

type in 'msconfig'

go to the tab called boot

check the safeboot mark under boot options.

 

exit and reboot

tap F8 to enter safe mode.

or put your Vista disc in and reboot, and boot from cd and go to the repair console, you might be able to fix things in there.

Vista really is a big step forward in taking control away from the user, it's rather scary really. F8 should work...

It should be legit had it installed on the PC when it was made.

 

I'll give the msconfig a go now...
