Got to find myself a place and I'm using a lot of these flatshare websites, like Spareroom.co.uk and the like.

two things really, has anyone had any experience of flatsharing with randoms

and does anyone want to live in a city apartment with me :blush:

No, Leeds.

... in hindsight asking that question on this board was a little foolish

Aye because most folk know what you're like Dave.

I've actually used spareroom.co.uk three times to find somewhere to live. I've never really had a problem with flatmates once I've moved in and living with randoms has been a lot of fun.

BUT each time I have moved it has taken me a long time to find somewhere suitable. I last moved just after Christmas after my last landlord sold up the flat and kicked all the tenant out. I looked at 11 different places before finding where I'm living now.

I've found the trick is to answer as many ads as possible, firstly because so many won't even acknowledge an enquiry. And I've found that a lot of the ads aren't entirely honest in their descriptions. As for the question about living with randoms, I've checked out a lot of flats that have been brilliant however I wasn't too keen on the people living there. Not to say that I'd live in a dump if I thought the people there were cool but that's why it's taken so long to find something.

So yeah, my advice is to check out as many places as you can before making a decision.

Telling you I'm living in Woodhouse when you're getting an apartment in the city centre is hardly a gloat.

There's something to be said for going home at the end of the day and not having to put up with anyone. Least of all a stranger.

Living with a stranger? No thanks!

I imagine it'd be a Kato-esque jumping out of wardrobes all the while.

How can it be so hard to find a house with strangers in it to live in? Are they rejecting you after interview, Davide?

not even getting an interview.

apparently a lot of these things are scams, so I'm a little cautious

ha hah hahah haa .ahah..... ah....ahhh.... funny stuff fat man

Why are you looking for somewhere else anyway, are you being evicted?

half the guys I am living with are leaving Leeds, and the girls want to live in a house without boys. I need to move out of a student house anyway, need a professional pad so I needn't worry about shitty landlords and rats.

Careful. You might not have much money to spend on rent when that sexual harassment suit comes through.
