The Verve Reform!

After disbanding in 1999, The Verve have announced they have returned to the studio and will be playing a series of UK lives dates in November, and Xfm have all the details right here.

In a surprise and very succinct statement from the band’s representatives to Xfm, its been revealed that the original full line up of The Verve - Richard Ashcroft, Nick McCabe, Simon Jones and Pete Salisbury – have reformed and were back recording together in a London studio last week.

This first session will be followed by a summer break, after which they will return to the studio to complete their next album, which will be the band’s first since the release of the legendary ‘Urban Hymns’ back in 1997.

The only member of the band who isn’t involved is Simon Tong, who joined the group in 1996 to replace Nick McCabe after he left the band (only to return six months later). Tong now plays with The Good The Bad & The Queen.

The Verve will also return to the live arena this November, playing six shows in the UK. Tickets for all the shows go on sale on Friday July 6.

Must be skint though to do the come back or they are crap as solo artists

Ashcroft did something last year if I remember right. It was appauling, very forgettable tune.

He's knocked out a canny couple of decent solo tunes in the past but all of his albums have been garbage on a whole.

Check The Meaning being the tune.

Best band out of all the hyped up indie shite in the 90's.Shame nobody managed to listen before the Urban Hymns(commercial)album tho.

Probably be sold out withing minutes for the gigs and selling for way over the odds, would love to see them before they split again tho.

Hopefully they'll come to the Arena.

Best news since Ashley!
