Birmingham have agreed a £6m deal with Spurs for striker Mido.

The 24-year-old Egyptian star had been expected to move to Birmingham on a one-year loan deal after struggling to make an impact at Spurs last season.

But now a permanent move has been struck, subject to Mido agreeing personal terms with Birmingham and passing a medical.

Mido will be Birmingham boss Steve Bruce's biggest buy of the summer so far if the deal goes through.

Mido is now further down the pecking order after Spurs signed Darren Bent.

Birmingham boss Bruce has also made an enquiry about Mido's Egypt and Spurs team-mate, Hossam Ghaly, as he looks to build on the squad that earned promotion last season.

Alright as back-up for Spurs but I can't see him doing it week-in, week-out. Not exactly someone you'd want next to you in trenches like. And Birmingham will be in the fight at the bottom I reckon.

he might to better at blues where he'll be the main man. looks the sort that sulks if he's rotated with other strikers. £6m does seem steep mind. did spurs even pay that for him?

Had a good reputation before he went to Spurs like... Might not be suited to the PL.

He had a rep for changing clubs every five minutes too which probably says a lot. Got some ability but he thinks he's world class.

How much did Spurs pay for him? Was it not 4.5 million?

The really have has their heads screwed on over the last couple of years in regards to buying and selling. They made decent profit on Carrick and somehow managed to get their money back and even profit on the likes of Mendes, Paramot, Davis, Davenport and Kanoute.

when you consider the Chopra and Kamara money that sounds about right, he comes with the added bonus of proper premier league experience as well
