Tuesday's Mirror:

NEWCASTLE and Tottenham want to rescue Wayne Bridge's fading World Cup hopes - with a move for the Chelsea left-back in the next transfer window.

Graeme Souness and Martin Jol are keeping tabs on the highly-rated Bridge, who is now behind Spain's Asier Del Horno in the Stamford Bridge pecking order - which won't do his England chances much good.

He'll move to Spurs, unless Parker can have a word in his ear.

I think the performance of us and Spurs over the next few months could decide where he ends up. Plus the fact that we'll probably match his Chelsea wage.

Bobby said we had him for 3 million but as soon as Chelsea bid 7 for him we didn't stand a chance and there was no way we we're gonna match that offer
