Braces

Not fun, I had 3 sets of braces during my teens.

Not fun indeed, for the next 9 month - that will no doubt drag - I will be looking like a total 'tard. I suppose it won't be too bad when this pain dies a death. But I've had soup for the past few meals now and it's a bastard.

How old are you? And how spazzed up are you teeth? I'm canny lucky that mine just grew in straight but I'm not sure I could have got braces much past about 13. When I lived in America I could never get to grips with going to a meeting at work and having some 30-odd year old woman smile only to realise she'd been chewing on barbed wire.

When I was 12 I had 4 teeth out and a brace fitted the same day...my dentist must have been a right twisted bastard !! ;)

Same here!

Worst agony of the lot was the first time he tightened it, on my second appointment. I was in fucking agony. I had gone back into school after the appointment aswell. :icon_lol:

17, I've been on the waiting list for ages also. And they're not 'spazzed up' too much, the fact they're in for at most 9 months suggests this. Ideally I'd have liked my front four teeth straightened as they're the only wonky ones, but that means I'd have to get my top teeth straightened, and if you get your top done you need your bottom done too otherwise my bite won't be right.

Bastard, eh?

Fucking horrible the way your teeth feel like they're set in plasticene for a couple of days after he applies the wrench. Can't remember how long I had mine, but I wouldn't have lasted a year on memory.

I had them when I was a kid first had a removeable thing with a pallet then train tracks. Used to have to wear a mouth guard for any sport I played when I had the train tracks in after getting a ball square in the mouth once and mangling my inner mouth!

Best thing my parents made me do imo, hate wonky teeth the only problem I have is getting them as white as I'd like, whitening toothpaste is just a fucking elaborate advertising lie imo! ;)

Aye not nice. You'd regret not getting it done though, I imagine. 9 months or a lifetime of cockeyed teeth isn't a bad trade-off.

Indeed. Just looking like a spastic for 9 months is the down side!

Just don't speak for 9 months, you could not type for 9 months too while you're at it. ;)

Let's compromise, I don't type for 9 month and you don't breathe for 9 month?
