Taylor with the armband.

Expect a "Proudest moment of my life" exclusive from Oliver on Monday.

What's with the venom? He's been pretty good today.

Why is it restricted to today?

He hasn't btw.

They just look a much better team than us. Fair play to Sven for knocking them into shape so quickly.

Maybe there was just no way we were going to contain their full flowing style with the people we have on hand... but it's pretty annoying to see the team get shat on like that.

Petrov and Elano: exactly the type of midfield players we lack, you can stuff Geremi and Smith up your arse.

Especially Smith... both ends of the "Attacking Midfield" spectrum him and Elano.... Smith has just been stroling around all game.

Smith's been nonexistent, Butt's been atrocious (horrific tackle early on, and a deliberate foul on Petrov in front of the ref that surely merited a yellow) and yet the one time Geremi's looking vaguely decent, it's him comes off.

Big Sam's tactics as of late have been less than satisfactory, he must realize that buying the players is just the first step.

Wouldn't want to start asking for Sam's head, but it just seems like Roeder/Souness in that he doesn't appear to have much tactical knowledge. Smith is a fantastic professional but he isn't a midfielder, especially not a winger. It should have been simple - from the start just play Zog left-wing, Milner right-wing and Enrique at left-back. Common sense surely.

We haven't been impressive, but I don't think we've bad diabolical either. Despite that, City have been awesome since their first goal.

I think we looked quite ok up front and had enough decent chances for an away game. But tbh, we looked absolutely horrible in midfield and at the back. We gave them far too much space to play their neat passing game (while the passing ability of some of our players looked like Conference standard). Also the organisation at the back just didn't work with always one or two City players being free. Butt and Smith should learn that playing football doesn't mean you should be sliding around the pitch.

Any thoughts on the number of times Martins' poor touches have surrendered possession, broken up an attack and led to a dangerous counter?
