Leicester 4-0 Norwich

Leicester ran out convincing winners as Norwich's 13-game unbeaten run came to an abrupt end.

The home side almost took the lead when Stephen Clemence's volley was deflected over the bar before Iain Hume netted the Foxes' first goal from close range.

Steve Howard doubled the lead with a low left-footed shot into the corner before Norwich's Darel Russell was sent off for a tackle on Richard Stearman.

DJ Campbell then fired in from 12 yards and Stephen Clemence got the fourth.

Big Glen is doing a good job down there - one result doesn't make a season - he has worked wonders - i don't know why there is all the negativity about him on here - he is a nice bloke who wanted desperately to do well but was a bit out of his depth and ended up an easy target for the boo boys - for what its worth i think if he had signed sol campbell instead of dithering about he may have still had his job and we may have got nearer the uefa cup

CLARK SIGNS CONTRACT

Posted on: Thu 11 Dec 2008

Lee Clark has this morning signed his contract to become the new manager of Huddersfield Town.

The 36-year old is now contracted to the Club until June 2012 having left his post as Assistant Manager of Championship side Norwich City.

He is set to be joined at the Galpharm Stadium by his new coaching staff - former England and Manchester City coach Derek Fazackerley, who will join as Assistant Manager, and ex British Lions Fitness Coach Steve Black, who will be Town's new Performance Coach.

The trio will be introduced to the media at a Press Conference at the Galpharm Stadium at 10am on Friday morning.

The three first worked together when Clark was a midfielder at Newcastle United under Kevin Keegan - Fazackerley was First Team Coach at St. James Park whereas Black was Fitness Coach - and will link up with existing Goalkeeping Coach John Vaughan to form Town's new management team.

Following the conclusion of his long and successful playing career as a midfielder for Newcastle, Sunderland and Fulham, former England Under-21 international Clark joined the coaching staff at St. James Park under manager Glenn Roeder before leaving the Magpies to rejoin Roeder as Assistant Manager of Norwich in November 2007.

Lee, who is currently completing the prestigious UEFA Pro License course, has made a real impact at Carrow Road and together with Roeder kept the Canaries in the Championship upon his appointment last season.

The appointment of Fazackerley compliments Clark's forward-thinking and determined approach with a vast wealth of experience at the highest levels of the game. Now 57, Derek forged a successful playing career as a centre-back with Blackburn Rovers before two appointments as Player-Assistant Manager with Chester and York.

A spell as Player-Manager of Finnish side Kumu followed in May 1990 ahead of coaching appointments with Newcastle United, Blackburn Rovers and the England national team where he gained experience at the highest levels of football including the Premiership, the Champions League and several World Cup qualifiers.

Fazackerley most recently worked as First Team Coach under Sven-Goran Eriksson at Manchester City and is renowned in football circles for his excellent organisational skills and defensive coaching ability.

Performance Coach Black also brings a wealth of experience to the Club after spells at the highest levels of both Football and Rugby Union. Newcastle-born, he has previously worked as Fitness Advisor for Newcastle United, Newcastle Falcons RFU, the British and Irish Lions side and has a long list of high-profile clients including Jonny Wilkinson, Jonathan Edwards and Kevin Keegan - with the latter describing him as 'the best one-to-one coach in the World'.
