When you've just got to sit around the house all day?

My Dad has had to take some time off work and is finding it very frustrating to not be bored off his skull,

(he's have muscular pains from siting at the pc too long which makes it impossible to work, an age thing i guess)

certain criteria though :

A. It cant be too physical

B. It cant involve the computer

C. It cant be drinking.

D. If its reading then what? (his favorite books are 'The Lord Of The Rings' & Dune, thank kind of thing)

E. He likes Bruce lee Films and Monty Python but i don think he actually owns any :icon_lol:

F. Music related would be good, he likes Led Zeppelin/Old Blues/Rory Gallagher etc etc.

So hes off for a few weeks and could do with something to do

Cheers

Lend him one of your guitars

Nah he doesn't want to play the guitar.

He reckons he's a bit old to learn it.

Due to working continental shifts, I do get a heinous amount of time off, and I must admit I do spend the VAST majority of it on my PC, playing Football Manager and browsing for porn and chatting to Scottish marketing graduates on MSN.

Sign up for the free month's trial on LoveFilm or Blockbuster where they send the DVDs to your house. I'm not suggesting he watch DVDs from morning to night, but it's a start for having something in the house you want to see. Then he can cancel the trial when he returns to work.

How about some gardening? nothing too heavy. It can be very theraputic

Get him to write a list of things he normally doesnt have time for, maybe odd jobs around the house etc.

Jigsaw puzzles

Suduko

I was also going to mention the Terry Pratchett books.

Has he watched the LOTR's trilogy? Also might be good to think of any Tv series he missed out on like Lost, 24, Sopranos or comedys.
