Nigel Pearson

"The appointment most people were looking for was a 'name' manager, the likes of Iain Dowie, Chris Coleman or even Kevin Blackwell," said Illingsworth.

Is Pearson really that much worse than them? I find it really wierd that young players no longer have to progress up the leagues, yet all managers seem to have to start at Havant and Waterlooville before they get a crack at a top job.

Southampton 0-2 Plymouth

Nigel Pearson's reign as Southampton boss got off to a poor start as goals from Peter Halmosi and James Paterson gave Plymouth an easy win at St Mary's.

Despite starting brightly, Saints went behind on the half hour when Lilian Nalis played in Halmosi, who clipped the ball past keeper Kelvin Davis.

And Paterson curled home a long-range effort for his first Plymouth goal to make it two just two minutes later.

Stern John and Wayne Thomas wasted the Saints' best chances as they fell away.

we're getting a new Assistant tomorrow so I have been told. The contact at SSN says we will be pleasantly surprised...

We as in NUFC or Southampton?

NUFC

"pleasantly" relative to Ernie's Wise's appointment?

3pm press conference?

This afternoon apparently new first team coach, hope he isn't messing me about again!

Need to cheer on West Brom tonight, defeat would leave Pearson on the verge of relegation.

His crust should have been relegated years ago, boring cunt

I'm sure he's had a control chip put in his head. :nufc:

Sarfampton are level now with Leicester and a point behind Wednesday but with a far inferior goal difference. Looks like it'll go down to the wire. Would (love it) to see Pearson go down though, the whiny little tosser.

Would like to see Southampton back in the Premiership. Rather them than the likes of Derby, Wigan etc. The same goes for Leeds and Forest.
