Great movies that you thought were shite

Enjoyable film but after a while you start to realise you're never going to have a clue what the fucks going on, until they inevitably wrap it all up neat in the end so just enjoy the brain scrambling mis-direction and wait for the twist.

I prefer to feel intrigued than completely at a loss.

Probably over my head like, but anyone that followed it first time round deserves the Nobel Prize for concentration.

Casino and Raging Bull are two I've watched recently that I thought were shite.

:(

Hardly suprising like. Didn't you think Lebowski was shite too?

Aye but tbf Lebowski was absolute shite. I've never met anyone that really rated it, more of a cult following I'd say.

Trainspotting is brilliant I think. A true classic of British cinema.

Best film ever in my eyes. I like obtuse films, like everyone abuses Escape to Victory, but the match itself used to give me hairs on the back of my neck, while films everyone likes, like your typical American shit girlie film, well I'd rather stick pins in my eyes than watch that type of pish.....ie Brigitte Jones.

Bridget Jones is British isn't it? I know what you mean though. I actually read the book after someone loaned it to me. Piece of piss to read like but rubbish all the same. I've never seen any of the films though.

And 'Escape to Victory' is no 'The Great Escape' like.

That explains why your taste is shite, you're mixing in the wrong circles. :(

TBL was a 6.5/10 sort of film. You often find low budget films can be some of the best, and seeing as though Ewerk's posting, I will mention one such example. "The Van" was absolutely superb, I bet they put it together for less than 3m.

Surprised as I think 'The Big Lebowski' is the sort of film you either love or hate really.

It's not bad, but it's no Goodfellas for example.

I've never seen it, or the Commitments for that matter.

I know, I'm a disgrace to my country.

You see, I'd rank them about the same. Love them both.

Never seen The Van, but Lebowski cost $15M and barely made the money back. There's some big song and dance numbers in there remember.

Never seen it either. The Commitments is quality though.

Aye, it's the sort of film you just have to 'get', if like me you don't get it then you wonder what all the fuss is about.
