Surely one would say 'Jack`s opinion' and not 'Jack opinion'?

Yes, you would. But Jack posesses the opinion, as it were. The slight difference being you could say Thursday 'owns' the gossip or equally you could say it is the gossip which just happens to be around on Thursday, I think, anyway.

Just wondering but didn't this used to be considered tapping up a player and against the rules?

Fergie couldn't complain like. Didn't he do exactly the same with Ferdinand, Robben, Stam, Saha and Van Nistelrooy with varying degrees of success?

Thursday's gossip is right because it is gossip from Thursday.

Thursdays gossip is wrong.

Thursday gossip is right in the same way Sunday school is right.
