EWCASTLE United can confirm that meetings between members of the Board and manager Kevin Keegan were held both yesterday and today.

 

Kevin has raised a number of issues and those have been discussed with him.

 

The Club wants to keep progressing with its long-term strategy and would like to stress that Kevin is extremely important, both now and in the future.

 

Newcastle United values the effort and commitment shown by Kevin since his return to St. James' Park and wants him to continue to play an instrumental role as manager of the Club.

 

For the avoidance of doubt the Club has not sacked Kevin Keegan as manag

It's a very carefully worded statement - I'm not happy that I haven't seen the phrase "Kevin remains Newcastle United's manager following our meeting today"

A bit fucking ambiguous to say the least but at least there is some hope there now. The fact that this has taken all day at least suggests they are trying to convince him to stay which would sure mean giving him more money and/or more control of transfers.

Reporting on 5Live that he is in a meeting at the moment.

Does not sound good!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Considering that the first rumours were that he already quit last night I rather see it as something positive. Hopefully another emotional outburst to increase the pressure to do things his way while they are begging him to rethink his decision. I f***ing worried now.
