?

When I look up fares the most expensive return ticket I see costs 44 pound.

And remember 2 singles can work out cheaper!

It might also be cheaper to buy a ticket from Leeds to Manchester then Manchester to Stoke.

Sounds wrong, but I save about £5 on a single from Swansea to Bristol by changing my ticket at Cardiff

No, no, no. Nein, nein, nein.

www.thetrainline.com Normally gives you the cheapest options but...if you're travelling from Newcastle to T'Leeds best option is to buy a ticket to York then York - Leeds saves about £14 if I remember correctly.
