"Argentinian football legend Diego Maradona was named coach of the national team on October 28, 2008 in Buenos Aires, according to 1986 World Cup winning coach Carlos Bilardo, after he came out of a meeting with Argentinian Football Association president Julio Grondona."

His brother was the manager of the Puerto Rico Islanders for a while. We would wind him up incessantly with chants of "You'll never be Diego" or similar.

In the end he totally lost it, tried to get into the stands to have a little bit of todo with some supporters and got himself fined by the league.

If Diego's half as good at managing as he's been at fucking up his life the last twenty years Argentina will be unbeatable. :icon_lol:

No coaching experience except for some terrible months with some trashy Argentine teams.

He can't even be trusted with his own life let alone one of the greatest footballing nations on earth.

Let's hope for their sake he's a figurehead and someone with a brain is doing the real coaching.

*sniff*

Fucking hell, you could mistake him for being a scouser :icon_lol:

A dig at scousers? Have you fallen out with the missus?

Far from it.... Digs at the scousers are more regular than you'd think :icon_lol:

He's actually in pretty good shape at the moment, compared to that picture :icon_lol:

He was playing in a Masters type tournament the other day, crying when he had to go off with an injury!

The man is fucked in the head. Despite the coke addiction he is waaay too partisan, they could easily end up with a Boca / River argument that will potentially blow their already sinking World Cup bid out of the water. As said above his managerial record is far from convincing.

Wierd decision and not particularly well recieved here (outside of the Boca, mullet sporting contigent).

I will be very pissed off if Argentina don't make it to the next world cup, which is a real possibility.
