Brother has got one of those netbooks with XP on it but it does not have a CD/DVD Drive. So he needs to connect to another one to use the drive to install some software. If so make an image of the sofware onto a USB stick / Drive and install from there or Connect the 2 laptops to a local network (router) and share the DVD drive. Craig 6284 Posted January 24, 2009 Share Posted January 24, 2009 using the router to create a LAN connection between the two is the best bet and then simply share the DVD drive from one to the other. If you share the drive as "D$" then to connect to it from the other machine, you simply need to open a command prompt and type: \\computername\d$ and hit OK.
