Fat waste of space, tactically inept cabbage head Steve Bruce sacked by Newcastle United

That would mean he was interested in the success of the team over the long term - which was what Rafa wants.

I don't disagree he is spiteful but think he is motivated by more than just that.

Ashley loves a gamble, he doesn't want long term success - that doesn't excite his limited brain.

He wants shorter term dopamine hits.  He wants to risk relegation and all for the buzz of gambling - win or lose.

This is buffered for him by the TV money, so he can further justify risk.  Also, he wins often enough to keep him at the table.

This is why he wants control of transfers.

Outside of pure spite, this is the only logical explanation for his behaviour.

It's all just one massive casino to him, St James's Park his roulette table.

if it's dopamine hits he's after, i sincerely hope the fat cunt has woken up this morning thinking it'll be incredibly rewarding to take up wingsuit proximity jumping or free solo climbing.

i'd pay to see the mess he left.

Or he’s a massive cunt with a dick the size of a mushroom.

This is all about him calling the shots imo. He’s not going to be dictated to by a Spanish cunt or them Geordie cunts. It’s Mike’s way or the highway.

He basically wants to sign a player for fuck all, see him have a good season and flog him. Cabaye was like a wet dream for him, in that sense. What makes him even more backward is that if he had any kind of long term thinking, he’d have invested in the academy 12 years ago and would be raking it in off the kids who would have come through properly.

The academy thing has always been confusing as fuck to me. If you set up a well managed academy you can easily cover its cost by flogging some players to lower league sides, and the potential profit is massive if you get a kid that has a lot of ability.

It feels like he’s basically always looking at the possible sale of the club. Not that he will or wants to it’s just that if he needed to he has pulled the maximum he could out before any sale, so he aims to always get as much as he can from as little as possible even at the massive detriment to the long term.

I honestly wonder how many of the players that have come through our academy have even made a decent career of it in the lower leagues? Ivan Toney seems to be having a decent time and Sammy is bouncing around Championship clubs but how many of them are floating around the Northern League when they were tipped for success?

It looks like Adam Campbell is at Darlo now, he was the next big thing once iirc. The one I’m surprised about is how Shane Ferguson isn’t at Real Madrid at this point, a bloke on here was making out like he was the next Ryan Giggs at one point.

Ashley knows the art of deception. Popular manager leaves announce there's a takeover.  Appoint a shite manager on a 3 year contract & the takeover fades into obscurity

This from The Mail

Newcastle United stars Jonjo Shelvey and Karl Darlow were involved in a 3am street fight where a rival was punched and kicked after alopecia-sufferer Shelvey was allegedly called a ‘bald c***’ in a takeaway after a pub crawl, MailOnline can reveal today.

The fracas in Morpeth, Northumberland, kicked off when the millionaire midfielder responded by telling his abuser: ‘Go back to your council house, you peasant’.

The fight came just ten hours before the squad flew to China for the troubled Premier League club’s pre-season tour, which began with a 4-0 thrashing by Wolves yesterday.

In exclusive footage of the bust up, goalkeeper Darlow, wearing a black hoodie, shorts and white trainers, appears to aim a kick at a man who had been shoved to the ground after punches were thrown.

Shelvey, who is wearing a white cap and designer ‘slider’ flip-flops, tries force his way into the brawl before being pushed back to the pavement in the early hours of Saturday morning.

Newcastle’s highest paid player, who earns £70,000-a-week, had been in a takeaway when he was allegedly verbally abused about his lack of hair.

A source told MailOnline: ‘Jonjo Shelvey was in the takeaway when a group of lads called him a “bald c***”. He laughed it off and said, “‘Go back to your council house, you peasant”.

But a friend of Karl Darlow has then got protective and weighed in with a punch. It would appear Darlow has also got involved in the fight. Shelvey is now getting some grief from the lads involved, although he was not involved in the actual altercation.’

Shelvey and Darlow, who are currently in China, had been drinking with friends including fellow player Jack Colback in the Black Bull pub.

One woman watching the fight from across the road yelps and says ‘that was cheeky’, referring to Darlow as ‘that keeper guy’, after he aims a kick.’

Shelvey has gone up in my estimation for that comeback tbh  and for not actually being stupid enough to get involved in the fight.

Apparently Bruce has said Gayle has a calf injury he didn't specify how long he'd be out. This means Newcastle will start with Muto the lone striker against West Ham again  on Saturday morning :D

Which is fine if you are paying peanuts, but this is huge gamble and looks like a trophy signing and a wind up of Rafa.  I would hate to be in Penfold's shoes if he can't sell him for a profit (including agent's fees, wages, match subs, etc., etc. ..... of course)
