London vs North East

Interesting how the talbe has panned out to this point.

In the top half of the table you have: Chelsea, Arsenal, West Ham, Fulham and Spurs and in the bottom four you have Newcastle, Boro and Sunderland.

Normally London teams suffer from the amount of Local Derbies they need to play so are at a disadvantage.

Why are teams from the North East underperforming so badly.

Weird really.

Assuming you're trying to make a valid point and not fishing, I'd question how serious some of the rivalry is between some of those teams.

Is the likes of Fulham-v-Spurs classed as a big rivalry?

Aside from that, spurs, Arsenal and Chelsea have spent hugely in the last few seasons. West Ham too. Fulham have a good manager and have made themselves difficult to beat at home.

Newcastle have suffered from massive mistakes(off the pitch) this season, and a woeful midfield.

Sunderland were left in the shit after Keane walked away again. Middlesbrough are just poor. The chairman seems to continually plough his money into the club, but Southgate has been pretty poor.

In the top 4 you have Chelsea and Arsenal,

in the top 8 you have Chelsea, Arsenal, West 'Am and Fulham.

Bringing up the rear you have Spurs.

Still you'll always be everyones 7th favourite Cockney team (the big 4 + Charlton + Dagenham & Redbridge).

Thanks for the serious answer. shame others on here don't have your attitude.

Ok then, why do you think Spurs are the least successful London Premiership club?

Also, while we're on how come only 38% of London clubs are Premiership while 60% of North East ones are?

Admittedly, we fail miserably on the pearly king n queen statistics with only 0.0000034% of our attendance being genuine pearly kings compared to your fabulous showing of 1 pearly king to every 4 fans.

To be honest Danny, what were you expecting?

Chelsea and Arsenal are perennial contenders, which is where they are. West Ham and yourselves are often around mid-table, which is where they are. Sunderland and Middlesbrough can flirt with mid table, but more often than not hover around the bottom of the table and We can be anywhere from Seventeenth to Second depending on where the roller-coaster car is at, in that season.

So your "point" is either not a very interesting point or at best, a very poor wum attempt.

If Newcastle where around mid table this conversation wouldn't even have been raised... Which lends the casual observer to conclude you were trying to rather unsubtly remark on our league position... almost like your sole joy in life is to try and raise the hackles of Newcastle fans.

The fact that we had the worst start to a season in our history I should imagine.

I would say that it is the shear number of clubs that share out great capital city, has lead to some falling by the wayside. Lets face it, when you have the city to yourself you have a captive audience and the benefits that brings.

You forgot Leyton Orient like. At least Spurs have the distinction of being less distasteful than Millwall.

Despite our lowly current league position, we STILL mean more to Danny than his own club. We just MATTER as a club and this is why he posts here.

We are passionate, exciting. We set the heart racing, fire the imagination.

We are the Rolling Stones. Spurs are the Shadows.

We are Jimi Hendrix, loud and colourful. Spurs are Kenny G, whiney and pointless.

We are Oasis, swaggering and unpredictable. Spurs are Travis, safe and insipid.

We are Amy Winehouse. Spurs are Lisa Scott Lee.

Carry on posting Danny, we understand why our club has got into your heart. It has that effect. People can't ignore us, it's just not possible. I'm sure somewhere in cyberspace there's a forum for Spurs fans, but what would be the point of posting there? What would there be to SAY?! :D
