It was a hell of a punch to finish it. Not a bad fight, two boxers going toe to toe but if he tries it against a heavier puncher then he’s in trouble. Should be an interesting encounter between him and Eubank. Both will be looking a KO in the first six rounds.

Seems to have upped his power a bit since going over to McGuigan. I don't think it's a great division at present like. Froch near or at his prime would totally rule it let alone an Andre Ward or Joe Calzaghe.

Look at the state of the chump he was fighting though. Some stand in for that Russian mandatory challenger who failed a drug test wasn’t he? Hasn’t fought in ages, old and bloated.

Aye. He looked slow and well out of shape.  Wasnt even a contest. He took him the distance a couple of years ago but clearly wasnt ready/

Ex WBC champion who prior to fighting Wilder had only lost 1 fight in 27

Fought once since taking him the distance 3 or 4 years ago and it showed. Not the build of a pro boxer

Stiverne wasn't interested in the fight at all. He was stationary throughout & couldn't even hold his guard properly.

Even the fella interviewing Wilder afterwards as good as said the victory proves nothing. It was an absolute farce tbh.

A proper boxer would punish Wilder for his carry on instantaneously & I think Joshua will. DW was a loose cannon and only

got away with it because his opponent didn't participate at all. He was borderline throwing windmills for fucks sake & didnt even have to move at times.

That said, whilst Joshua will outbox him Wilder's reach is insane and he can punch. He's as good as said he won't take the Whyte fight as well.

I'd say that AJ will fight Parker first and Wilder after that to unify all the belts.

With that seemingly being the most likely outcome you'd think that if Wilder was as good and as confident as he would like everyone to believe then the Whyte fight would be a perfect one in terms of being a decent earner against decent opposition. It would also be good preparation and a chance to beat someone who troubled Joshua in a more convincing manner than AJ, which would boost his own confidence whilst perhaps worrying his future opponent. I tend to think Wilder doesn't believe his own hype though which is why he never fights anyone of note and will demand a fortune to fight Joshua. Wouldn't be surprised if he makes the sort of demands he knows will scupper the fight.

In his last fight Wilder got paid less than a third of Takam got for fighting Joshua. When you consider the former's been WBC Champ for 3 years and the latter was a last miniute stand-in challenger then you can see why Wilder wants a fight with Joshua. Takam got more than everyone on the bill of the Wilder fight apparently.
