Watched the Eric Burdon of The Animals documentary on the iPlayer. Good watch and interesting hearing;

1. His rock & roll American/Geordie accent

2. See also Sting.

3. Silvio/Stevie Van Zandt singing about the club a-go-go 'In the town where the river Tyne flows' was canny surreal.

4. Pati Smith and Springsteen being very obvious fans of his alongside Sting and Silvio.

Worth watching for the accents alone. :good:

I watched it too, Burdon is gloriously ill natured...didn’t know he was the Egg Man either

I’ll have to watch that.
Ma Fist worked there and was friends with t’ Animals, ( as I’m sure I’ve mentioned before  )

This is one of her snaps of them from 1965, backstage at the  A Go-Go, after they’d got rid of Alan Price, who by all accounts was a massive cunt.

Great pic that. They went to the states before the Beatles & the Stones but seem to be afterthought nowadays.

Burdon said all the songs were in Price's name only so he pocketed all the cash and didn't give the others a penny. As you say, what a cunt.

Most of their songs were cover versions or written by stock writers.

Anybody watching Better Call Saul? It's finally caught up with BB I think. Hank, Steve, and Crazy 8 all making appearances, and Jimmy is well and truly Saul Goodman. Great stuff.

Edit: oh aye, last page.

CT was a fan. I'm out.

Even a stopped clock....

Actually, I think that was what put me off giving it a try

Yes but you need Einsteins IQ and a twisted brain to get anywhere near understanding it.

Some nice lasses though.

I had to watch explainer videos on YouTube to properly get what's going on. Good though.

One Night in Turin is worth a watch ( it’s available on Prime at the minute). For those old enough to remember Italia 90 it won’t tell you anything you didn’t already know (although you might have temporarily forgotten what a little cunt Colin Moynihan was / is). But for a bit of bittersweet nostalgia to take edge off the world ending it’s worth an hour and a half of your time. Thought the little reconstructed bits woven into the footage were a bit unnecessary. As was the narrator explaining what a sweeper system was

Flawed but interesting
