Chaser 1054 Posted May 26, 2009 Share Posted May 26, 2009 The only issue with buying home grown players is whether or not clubs would be willing to release them for realistic prices. I wouldnt be surprised if Cox was a daft price, even for a league 1 player. The players who we are looking to recruit, dont have to be capable of winning the Premiership, or even challenging the top 4. They need to be good enough to bounce us back up in the shortest possible time (1 season hopefully) and with a bit of luck, they will have something about them which can be developed to form a nucleus of a side once we do get back in the Prem. If you look at a lot of the clubs who havent returned to the Premiership, they have been clubs which maybe haven't had the cash to invest, and havent been able to restructure. I am concerned that we dont have long to turn it around, and we are going to need a total rebuild as some of the players we have wont have the energy required for the Championship, and the others wont want to drop a division.
