I slashed the wage bill in half, most of the squad I sold or loaned out, but can't get shot of Duff, Butt, Smith, Cacapa, Viduka or Xisco. Brought in Chris Brunt, Steven Fletcher, Andrew Surman, Mark Beevers, Fabian Delph, Simon Cox, Kyle Naughton, Per Skjelbred and took Darron Gibson, Sebastian Leto and Michele Paolucci in on loan. Singed Leto on loan from pool and Adriano is coming on a free transfer pending work permit. Owen and Viduka start on a free transfer. Tried to sign Owen but he joined Everton. Andrew 4218 Posted June 1, 2009 Author Share Posted June 1, 2009 End of the transfer window for me on the weegie update Sold: Oba for 10m and Geremi for 2.3m, cant get rid of duff smith or barton for any money (even 0) Signed: Skjelbred for 1.3m, Sunny for 1.5m, Alex (from internacional) for 6m, Jonathon Pereira for 2.1m and somehow managed to get Saviola on loan for the season for no money and 60% wages I'm taking the "bounca straight back" approach for this one still paying 640k a week wages but that would drop considerably if i was ever able to shift the trio of unshiftable players in duff smith and barton I'm through to the 3rd round of the carling cup and am second in the league with 10 points from 4 games (drew with reading) Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

Managed to hold off bids for Taylor and Colo. No other bids made. So have only paid money for victor Moses from crystal palace. Also Martins and Xisco have failed to find the net so far this season. Had to sell Beye to PSG as he got unhappy. Got 5 million for him though. So I only have R. Taylor has my only accomplished or natural right back and have been unable to buy anyone else since. Got 250k for Smith out on loan and the club have made 2 million offer to make it permanent. Any one else had takeovers take this long? keeps on coming up with takeover on track and then takeover looks like falling through and just goes round in a loop. I thought this was meant to be realistic :| Anyway, I shouldn't complain. Managed to keep hold of Martins who has just got a hat trick in the first game of the season away to Burnley. Got Celsinho in on loan as well and only sold Smith and Geremi so far. Slowly looking to bring in a decent young player for each of the older ones.
