:D I fully expect to get the gardening bug sooner rather than later. Though it'll have to be bye-bye London before I do, obviously.

These fashionable 'gardens' with the chippings, trendy pot plants, stones and decking look fine but to me they lack charm and individuality, I find them cold. I prefer a 'real' cottage style garden.

I always had you down as a fan cottaging.

Anyone know anything about re-turfing?

 

Only that there are some pretty decent "how to" videos on the net about it that I found in the usual places when I was considering it a few months back.

 

Basically it's 95% ground prep and 5% laying.

 

If you can, reseeding a new lawn is a better idea and will give a much better, stronger finish.
