Come on, seriously. How long from when you guys were reading about how Ashley might buy the club until it all went down?

No one knew anything about it at all. Basically someone flicked on Sky News and it had came out Sir John Hall had sold his stake in the club to some lad called Mike Ashley.

No warning, no speculation. It just happened.

I think you'll be getting more sympathy from other team's fans when they realise just how shit your pre-season is going. It may take a while, but I don't think you're as unpopular as say, Leeds. I admit I may have joined in the smirking before I joined this board, but I just dispair for you guys now. I hope you can get a decent new owner soon, otherwise you may end up the next Bradford or Oldham at this rate. It just sucks to see any club so badly managed and in limbo for so long, whether it is Blackburn, Newcastle or whoever.

I'm so glad that Rovers were not bought out by Ashley's former cronie Chris Ronnie. He seems to be the same kind of guy as Manboobs Mike.

We're in danger of becoming the new Oxford, never mind Bradford or Leeds.

Im going away for a week on Thursday morning, and I'm going to try and steer clear of any NUFC news until I return. I just hope that on my return I'll be provided with a pleasant surprise, rather than what I'm expecting.

well a mate of mine went off to Houston for a week with Chelski facing the receivers under Bates and opened the paper on the plane on the way back and thought he'd died and gone to heaven...............

Only 24 days til we play West Brom.....

Only 48 until the transfer window closes - but we've got plenty of time, haven't we Mike? :icon_lol:

I feel there is one group quite close to MA's valuations but he is using the other consortium to squeeze them. It is either that or the two 100m bids is completely made up.

"Meanwhile the Chronicle understands that a new consortium have put in a bid to take over the Magpies.

The group have handed United 24 hours to accept their bid, which meets the asking price, or they will walk away."

Sounds about right, Ashley's dicking around is what's costing us.

I think you are all fucking pessimists and it will be all sorted by the end of this week.

Alternatively, you are a fucking optimist and it will not be all sorted by the end of this week. :icon_lol:

(Going on Ashley's NUFC career so far I'd say the pessismists had more reason for their doubts.)

When we finally get of of Mike Ashley, I hope there going to be a spontaneous street party on Strawberry Place.

Only on condition there's a vigilante group rounding up the charva's who turn up for their SKY sports lollypop and their five minutes of embarrassing every Mag who's unlucky enough to watch it. David Craig can be taken up the back of Leazes lane and kneecapped for crimes against Newcastle.

Just a thought, don't quote me or anything. :icon_lol:

I'd guess that Louise Taylor knows exactly fuck all about what is going on. She (or 'it') is merely mischief making and sadly from just the few posts in this thread it is having thedesired effect.

Did everyone think selling a Club like NUFC could and would be done and dusted in a week or two? Should the new owners use Ashleys business acumen when it comes to purchasing NUFC?

No-one thought it'd take a week...but it's getting on for 2 months now.

And unfortunately, when we all panned her for being a mackem 'mischief making' slag as she tore into Ashley/Keegan etc...she turned out to be bang on the money about everything.

Trouble is UM, it's not that people expected it to take 24 hours, but I don't think anybody expected it to take this long.

Tbh it's matterless how long it shoud or shouldn't take. It has already cost us in terms of preparation and transfer targets and will continue to do so until it's sorted and if it doesn't get sorted we are fucked. That's all that matters.

Nah,

Lets get a small crowd of durham university types with crocheyed blankets to stand and politely applaud while shouting hurrah.

Because those are the only options :icon_lol:

To think the Arabs came knocking on our door before Man City......

Exaculty! We were within an ace of becoming the richest football club in the world, and being responsible for mass suicide in mackemsville into the bargain! Now look at us.

Think I'd better dance now... :icon_lol: :icon_lol:

John Gibson suggested that there's been no bid close to £100m tonight. He also intimated that the malaysians were just casino buddies of Ashley who'd come to put on a show of interest.

The only actual interest has been the £55m bid from Shepherd and a US hedge fund.

Not good news on any count.
