Derren Brown to predict the Lottery - LIVE

Did you see the one where he gave the woman 10 winners in a row at the horses? On the last one she was ready to put her house and her parents house on the result. :)

According to The Times he did this with over 7,500 people, it was just that they showed the one woman where it came off.

Surely this is just bog standard writing the numbers on a "hand held" which then displays on the monitor, mocked up to look like ping pong balls? :)

Can't be that, he writes '2' on his card but '02' comes up on the ball.

You seem to have dismissed this idea anyway, but just in case someone else comes along, like.

Surely he has to have done something more special than split screen? That's the sort of stuff regional news reporters do...

Okay, having watched it again Im going 100% with the split screen theory. Used this years ago to make an advert using a blue screen, but these days its so much easier to do with all the technology.

You will notice that while we are on the wide shot, the camerman is very shaky constantly moving. This never happens even with hand helds. Once Derren stands behind the balls the same camerman suddenly becomes rock steady eddy.

The delay derren makes in writing down the numbers, even waiting for the bonus to be picked, that he isnt using, gives his assistant plenty of time to put the balls in place.

Still a very good illusion......for the masses :):(

Quite amusing coming from someone who buys into that Anthony Robbins guff.

He managed to predict them then?

How come he doesn't manage it every week <_<

Because it's a 'trick'? :)

Howay man Craig, it's advertised as misdirection. I don't think anyone genuinely believes he knows what lottery numbers are coming out on a weekly basis.

Aye I know man... It was a leading comment to those who believe it.

Mind if he can predict them, his mates must be fucking pissed off he's not mentioned it before :(

The best misdirections are the simplest. :(

Anthony Robbins isn't an illusionist, a mass hypnotherapist maybe...

Would there be a spate of people claiming Derrens mindbogglery never worked on me..

Anyone can guess the no's without fear of legal claptrap.

That's what everyone who buys a ticket does, really.

It's true it is a real shame he "had" to show his numbers after the draw. Takes away a lot of the wow!

It wasn't a secret, it was just his 'system', that if he had enough people backing different horses then one would win back all winners, nothing spectacular about it at all.

A woman gambling away her parents home on a Derren Brown scam was pretty spectacular.

He's all over the shop throughout...I think purposely so, to dissuade people from the split screen theory.

Shows your ignorance of Robbins TBF

Fair enough, it's not like you're the gullible type, is it?

Whereas previously he got others to calculate, he did the averages for the live draw, making me believe he probably rigged the lottery. Would be interesting to see who won it?

Edit: no-one won, but you'd have to be pretty ballsy to go for all 6.

I like the way he didn't reveal the numbers on Wednesday before the lottery, stating it was because he couldn't legally reveal the numbers. That was supposed to be a 'prediction' that happened to be right - not exactly revealing the numbers, considering the draw hadn't been made. Then on tonight's show he has the opportunity to show everyone his team and people watching the show the predicted numbers beforehand when they're all in the room prior to the draw, but instead just rushes off. That way his team can't confirm whether he really did predict those numbers beforehand.
