mm I've always thought blackpool and the like would be the hardest games for us being used to good pitches etc of the PL and we haven't really gone anywhere this season where the conditions could make us struggle but its actually been a nice week or so around 'pool which I think will keep the pitch from muddying up

win for us

been there today, pitch looks in cracking condition, and the new stand is coming along well (no open end anymore) so should be fine

3-0 win (Ranger 2 and Nolan)

Will be interesting, as this will be the first of our really scrappy games against 'lower-tier' opposition.

Small team, small stadium, determined players, determined crowd--all looking for the 'big boys' scalp.

But I'm sure that Chris is well aware of all this and so is the team. The boys look determined this season, and I'm sure that no type of snobbery on our part will play a factor.

Plus, there is the added incentive of finding ourselves top of the league ahead of the weekend where our two closest rivals play against each other and at least one will drop points.

If we play well against Blackpool and Plymouth, and WBA v. Boro ends in a draw (reasonably likely), come Saturday evening the table could be:

1. The Mighty Toon: Played 8, Won 7, Drawn 1, Lost 0 — 22 points

2. WBA: Played 8, Won 5, Drawn 3, Lost 0 — 18 points

3. Middlesborough: Played 8, Won 5, Drawn 2, Lost 1 — 17 points

A more than three points lead would be great this early in the season.

In my opinion this was always going to be our toughest test yet this season. At least the weather has been fine and pitch in good shape but for alot of these players, playing at blackpool could be playing on mars for what they are used too!

We are in good form, confidence is high and the team spirit as strong as its ever been. So on that im pretty confident we will overcome any problems tonight...rough it up a bit and stroll home with another 3 points.
