we should go back to playing one up top if you ask me, especially away from home. our strikers are all too samey to form effective partnerships and we were often over-run in midfield yesterday with one fewer than them. nolan looks better with two midfielders behind him too.

next game i would go with a front 6 of:

_____________smith_________guthrie

Jonas_____________nolan___________lovenkrands

_________________harewood

.

Harewood was woeful though, disappointing considering the number of times players score against their old clubs. Carroll hasn't done much wrong imo.

he's got more of the pace that's needed for the lone ranger role though. i think carrol needs a pacey second striker alongside him to get to his flick ons.

I kept SKY on after the game had finished and was dissapointed they didn't show Forest being awarded their cup.

:(

Never saw any bother myself, but then I was straight on the coach. Saw a few kids in Stone Island before the game who called us Geordie Cunts. They were only about 16 and were posturing but I think if the prospect of a fight came up, they'd probably have shit themselves.

But most the Forest fans were OK.

Lovenkrands is fucking woeful out wide man. It's like playing with 10 men. He was an absolute waste of space yesterday.

I've said that since we signed him last season...brings absolutely fuck all to the team.

Its got to be Carroll and Ranger up front for me...maybe a bit too similar but at least Ranger has a bit of pace. Jonas and Raylor out wide and Smith and Guthrie in the middle.

Either that or go back to one upfront with nolan in behind...works...just a little negative really.

That "pass" to Harewood when we caught them in possession about summed his performance up. Shocking.

Sounds like one of the little fuckers after the game who was shouting some abuse at some of our lot until I tapped him on the shoulder and advised him it wasn't a good idea to carry on. His face was a fucking picture when he realised he wasn't with 'friends'.

The whole place pissed me off yesterday. Loads of bars not letting you in, few of the cunts seemed friendly and that isn't the way to go when you've a large (and in some cases, drunk) following coming to town. Almost got arrested for telling a policeman a couple of home truths as the home fans could goad and mock at will but we apparently weren't. We owe these small cocks a heavy defeat and at the minute, I really don't fancy seeing any of the fuckers in Rosies or wherever when they come up here. They'll have a fucking nerve if they do.

Anyone see the ruck on the bridge after the game?...doubt if it was organised, just some young uns in stone island jumpers kicking off after a bit of chanting and name calling....silly fuckers there was filth everywhere :(

saw the aftermath, with various lads on the floor and dogs all over the place.

Just as we were pulling in to the coach park, the steward on the coach told us there was a club beside Trent Bridge which would let us in. When we went round, all we could see was a bar called the Larwood or something, with a big sign saying Home fans only. We went round the corner and were about to go a bar when some Forest fans told us the bar round the corner was much better. There were a couple of Police who said we'd be allowed in. so we had a look. It was canny, but absolutely jammed. But there were both sets of fans in there and it was fine. Forest fans were chatting with us, and apparently a lot of pubs are now Home fans only because there'd been bother with some away fans last year.

I was a bit apprehensive about the Police, but the ones I encountered were quite helpful and friendly.

How's that? One likes to flick the ball on, the other likes to control it and hold it up. One has no pace, the other can run. One tries to shoot from anywhere, the other tries to play others in. One is black, one is white and only one of them has corn rows now days.

Oh yeah they are both tall and play up front, you're right they are a bit too similar!

You're correct about Lovenkrands though, useless soft as shite puff he is.

You'd have thought we would've bought a decent attacking midfielder by now.

I mean, Big Mike has been putting £20 million a year into us( more than all of us plebs combined, innit).

I blame Keegan :(

Ryan Taylor or Guthrie right with Jonas left are both far better options even if Guthrie is wasted a bit out there.

Two points from our last nine now. I guess now we'll see how good Hughton is when things get tough.

I expect 6 points from Scunny/Donny.

I expect nowt against scunny but three against Donny.

S Taylor's a miss as well but we're also missing a 'Plan B' I think. Teams are starting to suss us out and when you have a midfield 4 that includes Nolan as one of a central 2 and Lovenkrands then you're going to get overrun, especially away.

This is my concern. The wheels have well and truely fallen off and Hughton is no mechanic.

Doesn't help that Ashley has taken most of the wheel nuts and his jack.

We've got problems all over the park imo but thankfully the shitness of the league and the fact the first teams we played appeared to shit themselves against us we've put ourselves in a good position. Desperate for any kind of pace, we're far too slow as a team. There's also only so much more of Carroll falling over AGAIN I can deal with.

And... now we're going to offer him the job. :(

far better? dunno about that like. taylor doesn't offer much beside set pieces. lovenkrands offers little too but at least is one our midfielders that has some pace.

duff would have been good in this division. shame we couldn't hang on to him, although not unexpected. for all our midfielders we are lacking creatice options and pace.
