Tom save your cash ! PRS ...horrible guitars ...get a vintage strat or tele ...maybe even a custom shop ...you'll thank me in the long run believe me : )

Agree about the PRS thing.

Tom, I've had mebbes 10 Strats and ended up making my own from the best parts I could get for about the price of a new US model.

Bareknuckle pickups, nitro finish, Brazillian rosewood blah blah for about £700. I had the guitar tech (Neil?) at Soundcontrol do the tricky stuff like fitting the bone nut etc.

Just clearing some clutter from the main football forum. :D

Nice looking that Asprilla! I'm not too sure If I could be arsed to do it that way though! I have had a few strats too and at the moment I'm happy with the white US job, although one of my siblings possesses a Squire Classic Vibe strat which is class, a great playing guitar for £230 with Duncan Designed pick ups in.

I have two very basic ones. An accoustic one I bought a few years ago when I first started and an Ibanez I've had for almost a year:

Don't spend enough time on the electric though, a bit tricky to get good at it.

I'm an acoustic player myself. Currently using a 1960s Yamaha acoustic, but going to be looking to get a new one if I get this new job. Hit a bit of a block as to what to learn next, and tend to just play songs I am liking at the moment but which tend to take up little effort. Learned the majority of "You've Got a Friend" by James Taylor, although not completely, and have just learned the surprisingly easy "Boy with a Coin" by Iron And Wine.

Need to find something to learn that I like, and that challenges me to take my skill that bit higher.

I do like RGs, although the new ones aren't so good.

I love the ones from the 70-80s though - I have a yellow rg550 which plays fantasticly, looks great and sounds great. I've also got a nice cream US strat like Toms which is well worth the money.

Would love to get my hands on a Jem777VBK but they didn't make to many of them and anyone who does have one would probably never sell it - i've never seen one for sale anyway B)

any idea where guitars go to die???? I'm looking for a couple of old knackered electric guitars to use for decoration on my son's bedroom wall. He wants to be a rock star, I've already aquired a couple of old acoustics to hang up, I've spent a fortune on posters to have framed, but I'd love to get a couple of old electric ones just to finish it off. I've looked on ebay but folk are still charging a fortune for them, they must be buying them to repair, but I'm quite happy with beyond repair. Any ideas or suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

Not worth the effort to be honest!

To hang them would cost £10 a piece and a couple of knacked electrics would probably go for £30 a pop.

You're better off just buying him a starter set for £130 + or getting him a working acoustic and lessons.
