RICHARD WOOD wants to complete a switch to Coventry City, according to reports in Sheffield.

The Sky Blues made a formal bid for the transfer-listed centre-half today after having an offer for the Owls' defender turned down last season.

And The Sheffield Star reports that Wood is keen on making a switch to the Ricoh Arena.

It is believed that City want to complete a loan deal for the player until January when a full deal can take place.

thats from the Coventry telegraph

Notts County Wood Deal Done?

Wednesday's want-away defender Richard Wood has put pen-to-paper on a deal with League Two side Notts County, according to media reports today.

This morning's media are reporting that transfer-listed Wood has agreed a deal with money-bags County after failing to agree a new contract with Wednesday.

The Sun report also states he turned down offers from Ipswich Town, Coventry City and Sheffield United for the County move.

Of course, you can't always believe what you read, but the Wakefield-born stopper has been heavily linked with County since being transfer-listed by boss Brian Laws last month.

Upon Peter Stavros bombshell to Angela that her arch enemy Richard was infact her son, it opened a whole new meaning to the love/hate relationship.

However do you think it was better Richard being Angelas son or would you have preferred Jacqueline has his mother?

Brings a whole new meaning to 'got wood'.

EDIT: just noticed his first name!! "Dick Wood" ;) ;)

[He's certainly one of them if you get my drift, so he would fit in at your place or around that Centre for Life district.

He's lost the plot this season unfortunately, good young defender but has made gaffes this season, but this is probably due to Laws bringing Purse in from Cardiff, now hes is shite and cost us a lots of goals this season. Even the one at your place. ]

Sheffield Wednesday have given permission for Richard Wood to talk to another Championship club after accepting an offer for the defender.

Coventry City are the favourites to sign the transfer-listed 24-year-old in a deal that would be worth about £500,000 in January.

Owls manager Brian Laws expects Wood to leave the club in the next 48 hours.

Meanwhile, Laws has confirmed that he would like to use the proceeds of any player sales to bring in a new striker

Just a thought...as he has already changed the naming to sportsdirect.com@st james for commercial reasons......doesnt that mean he himself HAS to put money into the club?

We could spend that on gary caldwell and henrik larsson :good:

Nope, wasn't the naming just a marketing exercise to show potential interested parties what sponsorship of SJP would do?
