Nibbles speaks out

http://www.cyclingnews.com/news/nibali-chris-froome-salbutamol-case-is-terrible-for-the-sport/

Quote

"It had rained during those day in Spain and so it seems difficult that he suffered with asthma. I’ve got the same problem but when it rains the pollen doesn’t cause any problems and you don’t even need to take one puff of Ventolin,” Nibali said, according to Tuttobici.

"For sure this is a terrible news for the sport and for me."

Sorry Wykiki I've just seen this, don't get as much of a chance to post on here any more as I can't access the website at work and as the site no longer uses Tapatalk I can't get away with using it on my mobile.

Have you seen any of the world indoors?

What's a good distance to be doing on an exercise bike in the gym for a beginner?

I did a 5k run on the treadmill and then a 10k on the bike. It was fun but I'm unsure as to what I should be aiming for.

Ratio is approx 1:3 iirc. But it’s dependent on other factors. A slow jog of 5k would burn more calories than a similarly leisurely 15k on the bike. If you ride fast, averaging 25 mph then the bike ride would burn more calories I think. Depending on other factors too like you burn a lot more calories as soon as you put a bit on incline into the run.

Depends on your goal and aim @Tom

Like Alex and Andrew have said, if you're in there for calorie burn dont aim for a distance, aim for a time I would say.  Start up with a 10min warm up then do some intervals.  2mins hard, 1 min harder, 2mins hard, 5 mins easy.  Thats a good 20min workout.

Thanks for the help guys, I had a bit of a warm up and ended up doing 10k as fast as I could, my best pace arrived for the final 2k but it was good fun, a lot quicker than the other day too.

At the moment I'm wanting to shift some weight so I can run a little easier...I don't have *too* much to lose by my knees are delicate so I need to give them all the help I can
