In the Christmas spirit now. In the lakes for the weekend and just come back from the Christmas Market at Hawkshead. It was like something out of a Dickens novel :D

Id spend every winter in the lakes if I had the option. We live 90 miles away from one of the prettiest places on the planet

Hawkshead is a lush little village, isn't it?

Did you go to the Hawkshead Relish shop by any chance?

Same here. Id love to know what the fucking purpose of that sort of shit is. I mean most other things on the human body you can put down to some good work, but dreams / nightmares. Even dreams would be fine if it was just your darkest fantasies coming true, but watching some fucker get run over or drowning on a double decker....... Sick.

You can supposedly train yourself to have lucid dreams. I'm assuming / hoping you haven't already done so.

As I'm sure most people on here are aware of the various troubles I've been having with my back for the past 18 months or so, that has left me unable to do such basic things that I once took for granted like going to the gym, I've even missed our matches this season as I can't be in a restricted environment like SJP as it leaves me in such pain afterwards, so my season ticket has been going to waste.

I've saw several different GPs, had ultra sound scans, MRI scans and still nothing has been done to determine a root cause of the problem and I still don't have an official diagnosis for the chronic back, neck and shoulder pain I've got, as well as the numbness in my right arm.

After another GP appointment this morning it appears that they're actually progressing things again, as all most of the GPs have been interested in is giving me more and more tramadol instead of trying to get rid of whatever problem has been there for the past 18 months. I've had a blood test this morning to see for any signs of arthritis and I've also been referred to a musculoskeletal clinic to see if they can help. Even if it's not good news regarding the arthritis it will at least be some piece of mind for myself so I can finally know what's actually been causing such massive pain recently.

I now you talk about GP's, but have you had the opportunity to go and see a specialist in this field.

Berlin is fucking dangerous magnificent.

Munich was as you predicted btw, forced jollility was the order of the evening. Instead of watching the Stoke match I was in an "authentic" 16th century Bavarian tavern where we had to eat with our hands (and a massive dagger), blokes couldn't serve the beer and some couple dressed like something out of Rentaghost played whistles and pipes. It was a laugh but a bit odd.

When it comes to back/neck/shoulder trouble GPs seem to be totally useless in every single case I hear of. The other half suffered really bad for years, since before I met her, at one point the GP asked how her love life was and whether it might be depression cos she didn't have a boyfriend  They'll do owt to try and prescripe anti-depressants.

She's been going to Monkseaton Chiropractic for a few years now though and it's much better. Had a recent twinge, but otherwise nowt for ages.

Well worth the £30 a session each month to keep things loose.

Aye best of luck with all that Tooj, hope you get some better attention. I assume they've ruled out a neuropathy?

They haven't ruled out anything, that's the problem.

 Aye, that sounds about right. The whole of Bavaria is basically a glorified theme park, but if you're in the mood it can be canny enough.

Good luck with the back thing Tooj. Must be pretty fucking miserable to have something debilitating like that going on at your age.

The numbness in your right arm though, that can have its benefits, amirite?

They misdiagnosed and dismissed my Mrs back trouble for years until she literately couldn't get up one morning (lazy cow) because one of her discs had popped out. A day later she was in surgery. Much better now, although it's a long term thing that has to be managed.

Good luck Tooj, must be frustrating all these Doctors not knowing what's wrong with you, when it's plain to the rest of us it's just that you're a moany twat ;)
