I like Balls

Was gonna say 'Balls entrenched by Brown' is one of the sickest euphemisms I've heard around here. Actually, scrap that, it's not even a euphemism is it you sick fucks.

Result announced at the same time as footy scores today btw.

Edit: innuendo was the word I was looking for. :icon_lol:

That's the problem though isn't it? He's going to be an esay target for the media. I'm not feeling particularly happy about this.

Aye, same here.

It's like having Rain Man in charge of the Labour party.

I'm pleased actually - he's more in tune with the way I think than his brother. I'm not going to be down about the press bashing him -that would happen whichever candidate won, at least he will be arguing for an economic policy that is a genuine alternative, and that is what I think the Labour Party needs to do at the moment.

Were never going to get and old school left winger but I think David Milliband was tainted by being associated with Blair and his actions as foreign secretary so this isn't a bad choice from the fresh start pov.

As a Tory I have to say I am delighted by this result. A lefty union puppet will ensure a conservative government for many years to come. All Cameron has to do is get through the next four years of pain and have the country back on the rise in time for the next general election.

"Special Ed" as he will now forever be known needs to wrk on finding a personality and some charisma or he will be gone before the next conference.

Cos he's a little bit special

I love the way Tories refer to Unions as if they are some dodgy alien bodies. Members got a vote in the election - that's members who are just normal workers last most of us. The idea that it's an "unfair" election because of the union vote is ludicrous. Compared with the Tories who have always been run back dodgy committees of God knows whats (see the ousting of Thatcher as an example), I think its a pretty democratic party - though admittedly Blair has done his best to change that.

Also "All Cameron has to do" is fucking hilarious.

Looks like the unions didnt want Davey boy and his new labour background. Which I pretty much agree with. But it looks like the only type of person the rest of the country want as an actual or potential PM is a smooth talking PR man with no principles who doesn't give a fuck about anything as long as he can get middle England to vote for him.

On a side note, I'm waiting for Sir Digby Jones and the rest of the "business community" to get their quills out to supply their no doubt concerned opinions to the national press in the run up to VAT going up to 20% in January in the same way as they did when Labour wanted to increase employer's national insurance contributions......if anythings going to cause a "double dip" its likely to be that as far as I can see. But I won't hold my breath. It'll be ok for EM to be called a union puppet but when businessmen use the media to scare the public into votiing for who they want in it barely raises a murmur.
