my team would be this

________James________

A Cole__Terry___Upson__Johnson

Lennon__Lampard__Gerrard__J Cole

_______Crouch__________________

_____________Rooney____________

Its absoloutly essential to play Gerrard and Lampard in the middle :jester:

Yerr to be honest we should win about 2-1, Crouch and Rooney

gerrard and lampard simply can't play together in the middle of a 4-4-2. t's been tried and tested.

in fact, isn't that the front 6 that sven used in the last world cup?

I'm sticking with what i've thought would happen from the USA game onwards, we'll do enough to get through the group, and progress untill we turn in a genuinely good/great peformance, preferably a brave, battling one and then go out on pens as soon as we do play well, probably to Germany or Argentina!

Johnson Terry Dawson Cole

-------------Barry

Lennon-- Gerrard------ Cole

--------Defoe Rooney

Let them try and cope with the movement and invention of that team

This, but with Milner in for Lennon would do.

I'm at work which should guarantee an absolutely barnstorming performance that people will talk about for years :jester:

Lennon is frighteningly short of control of his feet tbh.

tough to drop him and keep gerrard and rooney in, we were shit against algeria but he was the only front player who showed some threat

It's all about opinions I suppose. I think he's been rotten.

I would drop Rooney. Needs to be reminded that the shirt is more important than his petty, self-centered ways. The other thing, is he a Nigerian 23??! :jester: Looks like a fat 30 year old.

he's fat

he's podgy

his birth certificate's dodgy

Rooney, Rooney

King's still injured. It would be interesting to see whether Terry would start if he wasn't though.

Another Capello gamble that has backfired.

He is not having much luck at the minute, maybe we should send him a few lucky charms. I will donate my lucky wanking sock.

It was fucking stupid though. Easy to say in hindsight I suppose but he was taking Ferdinand, who's been out most of the season, he's took King who is always injured and Upson's got a poor record with injuries too. Planning on taking all 3 was daft. Especially when the back-up plan is a lad who's never played for England (Dawson). Strange decisions all-round.

Part of the problem was a lot of the alternatives Lescott, Jagielka, Brown etc have been injured for a large part of the season too and King had finally put a decent run of games in so I can see why he still chose him.
