ANDY CARROLL has been ruled out for up to two months with a torn thigh.

It could see the hitman miss seven games for Newcastle and three England matches.

News emerged as medical staff revealed the true extent of a thigh tear that has already KO'd him for two weeks.

Carroll, who has hit 11 Premier League goals this term, is now unlikely to return to first-team action until at least late March.

With a two-week break scheduled after Toon's trip to Stoke on March 19, Carroll may not play again until the home clash with Wolves on April 2.

England also have three games during that time - a Euro 2012 qualifier against Wales and friendlies with Denmark and Ghana.

We need a striker within the next week, fucking get a striker. I can't understand why they're going for midfielders, our strikers are poor ffs. Best, Shola, Xisco and Ranger. Fucking hell I'd rather have Viduka and Owen.

How do they suddenly know how long he'll be out?.....

Unless the suggestion is that the club have known all along how long he'd be out for but haven't said so to keep the opposition guessing. If that's the case then good on them, but FFS get some decent reinforcements in, even if it's just on loan to the end of the season. Saying that Shola and Best have done a good job when they really haven't is not going to get us goals.

CT Why do you post unsubstantiated rumours from less than reputable papers?

It's probably bollocks and even if it is true, it's sensationalist to consistently put shit up without anything to back it.

That thing about Krul has had nothing to it, even Bird said he had heard nothing concrete and it's from his paper.

I heard he was out for three months, due to the tear being so bad it almost had his leg severed. However, being a Geordie, a few staples, a couple of sticky plasters and some creme de menthe to dull the pain and he was back on his feet within a week.

Personally I think there's nothing wrong with posting and discussing stories from the National daily papers. Surely thats one of the things we do on a forum?

Its the sort of thing thats read and discussed by football fans at every workplace up and down the country every day.

Not really sure what your problem is with it?

Im sure ive seen you discuss all sorts in the transfer gossip thread.

Yeah, transfer gossip.

Maybe there should be another thread called Shite Media Rubbish or similar where all of the fleeting, space filling junk can go instead of having dedicated threads for it.

While we're there there should be a thread where henda can periodically pop in and name a player who he thinks we should buy.

That's freed up his schedule for some more drinking/partying.

Bar stools in the area have been put on notice.

Fixed it for the pair of you.

That's good actually, cheers.

It is, but its one thing saying "According to paper X, this player is doing this" and another saying "OMG Player X is doing this !!!!11111oneoneone".

Also, I would buy a newspaper called Paper X, over one called The Sun.

Lee Ryder quotes NUFC as saying Carroll out til April is "wide of the mark".

Would have felt better hearing the word "nonsense".

Not sure if its in here or elsewhere, but didnt someone mention that Woodgate had loads of problems with a thigh muscle tear.

Bearing in mind they thought he might make the derby, I think its safe to say its a very problematic injury, hence the London specialist.

If it is true then they should be pulling up trees for loanee at least.
