Carroll wouldn't have been playing anyway Its the negative affect it's had on the whole team though. Best, Shola, Ranger previous only had to up their game for a few weeks until Carroll return. Its a different thing altogether the be the main source of goals. People underestimate that and Carroll shouldered it very well. With Carroll we had optimism and a player who genuinely put fear into the opposition because he was a real threat. Now, we are going to have to rely on Barton & Nolan to score every chance they get 'cos we'll get fuck all out of Best & Ranger. Lovelyhands is a support striker / impact sub at best and always has been. Even without Strolla getting injured we were in a weakened position. I don't know, I mean I'd expect there to be a downer on the team after selling Carroll but I'd say tonight's shit display was as much to do with dodgy tactics employed and no decent toughened midfield orchestrator (Tiote, for example).
