Cyclist Hoy appeared to take the abuse in good spirit tweeting back to confirm that he wasn't in need of glasses and did not lead a double life as an English official. Chris Hoy - Just for the record 1) I don't need glasses and 2) I do not lead a double life as an English premiere league ref. That's Chris Foy He later tweeted to say the abuse had not relented despite his claims of innocence but that the experience had allowed him to learn some colourful new language. Barcelona's sudden switching of the 'on-button' against Real this week, in the second half, was scary. On the negative side though, they've become a specialist big-game side while being complacent in the league - against the lesser likes. Talent aside, which is not in question, Pep's biggest challenge (as a motivator) in Barca's volatile hot-seat starts now. Credit to Jose too. There was no resorting to the recently used gimicky mind-games tactics, ala last season where they/Real in a bid to nullafy Barca's playmakers opted to not have the pitch's turf cut in the game's lead-in. They need a ball player, not a Tiote type to break up play and I can't remember the last time they played with one on a regular basis as Keane was more of a box to box midfielder. Villa, who had been linked with a multi-million pound move to England in the January transfer window, suffered a fractured tibia while challenging for a ball in the Al-Sadd penalty area. He was taken to the Yokohama Rosa hospital. The injury means Spain are likely to be without their leading striker for the defence of their title at Euro 2012 in Poland and Ukraine. Dyer has been sidelined since he suffered a foot injury just five minutes into his QPR debut against Bolton Wanderers on the opening day of the campaign. He was expected to make his comeback after the Christmas period, but the 32-year-old hurt his foot again playing for the reserves earlier this week. Warnock is likely to leave Dyer out of his 25-man squad when he re-submits it to the Premier League after the next transfer window shuts, meaning the former England international may never play for Rangers again. "This is a devastating blow for Kieron," Warnock told the club's official website. "I have never met a more determined pro in my career, and he really doesn't deserve this. "The specialist said he thought Kieron could return before Christmas without the need for an operation and is disappointed that this is not the case, and he has no alternative now but to operate. "I have absolutely no doubt that he will recover after the operation. We are going to support him as best we can because he has got such a contribution to make, both on and off the field. "And even though he has not featured for us, he has made a vital contribution at the training ground and has been very important to have around the place." Warnock added: "We are aware that Kieron's contract can be terminated in January. "But, having spoke to Tony Fernandes and the rest of the shareholders, we want to support Kieron in this time, even though it may mean he is not in our 25 for the rest of the season. "I feel he has a lot to offer the club. We will be involving him in many aspects of the club while he rehabilitates." Never saw that coming.... The QPR fans who took part in the pitch invansion when they got promoted probably spent more time on the pitch than him. I know he's spent most of his career on the treatment table, but I honestly don't think he's Winston Bogarde-ing it up. He's just been incredibly unlucky with injuries.
